I beg your pardon, obviously you haven't the right idea about what it means to be an American.

Being one means you have the RIGHT to protest when your president and government aren't doing what the people want. YES I did say what the people want. Read some of our most precious documents..."of the people, by the people, for the people"...that is what are government is to be about. We call the shots, not some arrogant Texan in the White House.

And as far as the morale, that is up to them over there. Protesting the war has NOTHING to do with how people feel about the troops, we know they are only pawns in this game.

I suggest you get off your flag waving horse long enough to know what being American really means.

Yes, I am American enough to vote. I even voted this election for those who I wanted in. When the people who we vote them into office start to ignore what they say then what do you do? Wait around for another two, four, or six years to elect someone else in to do the same thing. Meanwhile, they are screwing things up royally. Your voice needs to be heard. Why do you think Congress never did anything about the illegal immigrantion problem. Couldn't have been the thousands out there protesting could it? Yet, how many Americans were out there pushing for it to go through? Slim to none. What happened, nothing was done. Don't forget the First Amendment even says we have a right to petition the government for a redress of grievances. We can formally ask the government to correct its injustices. Use it. doing this does not make you a whimp, it actually sometimes works. Besides, after bieng in the military I can tell you protesting doesn't hurt morale. Believe it or not some of us didn't even want to even be there in the first place and agree with the protesters. Some of us even thought that it was a mistake. What hurts morale is a chain of command that seems to be using you to clean up its messes. And that you are nothing more than a tool to be used whenever they see fit. No organization also hurts morale. The government can't seem to get it's head out of it's butt and come up with a half way decent strategy. Not everyone felt this way. I just wanted to let you know that there are some that disagree with this Administation's handling of things just like there is out here. Just wanted to let you know that just like terrorism they are using the morale crap to get what they want.

Vote and not protest? How about i do both? Thats what America is about. Voting and Protesting.
BTW, how many tours have you did in Iraq? Ive did 2. And im a democrat.
I will think about the death toll. Maybe you should as well and maybe you shouldnt block it out of your head. It doesnt bring our moral down to remember those who have fallen in combat.

Hey, let them protest. Are you American enough to protest back? Yes, we all have the right to vote, but we also have the right to freely express our opinion or to convince others to change their mind.

I have a brother that has served four years in Iraq and is there now. He knows that he is doing the right thing and knows that most Americans support him.

Actually, you should do both. Remember the Boston Tea Party? That was a protest against taxation without representation, and it was the catalyst for our nation's birth. Nothing more American than using your First Amendment rights to publicly express your rage against the machine, bro!

Protesting is a very patriotic act, whether people want to believe it or not. This country began under protests towards the crown. If you are not satidfied with what your elected officials are doing on your behalf, you should stand up and say something about it.

I vote so that I feel that I have the right to protest. If I don't vote, I should be content with the government I get.

I agree, all these people that are protesting the war but supporting the troops?? I don't think so and that is what will cost them their lives if they loose morale.

You're right, let's not think about the death toll. That's unpleasant. Let's just believe the hyperbole that spews from the white house. ...and think nice thoughts. Who needs reality anyway, it's inconvenient

I was born in America, I think that makes me American enough.

I vote and take the news for what it is.... entertainment. I get my info on the war from my brother-in-law who's in it. Good luck
