He has spun this war so many times that I think many of us are confused as to why we are in Iraq and Afghanistan. HIs name and legacy will be forever linked with Iraq.

Bush's legacy has gone down the toilet. He will go down as one of the worst presidents in history.

I think Bush sincerely is concerned with the lives of the American people and could care less about his legacy or how people view him at this very moment. I think this because during MY lifetime he's the only President who has gotten honest with himself and his abilities, or lack there of, during his terms. He's admitted he went into Iraq with false and/or misleading information about WMD. He's acknowledged this war isn't going the way he hoped. I believe his intentions are good. He's only human and that's what we all must keep in mind. The towers were knocked down on his watch and for him to retaliate as quickly as he did...the guy's got guts that's for sure.

I'm a Republican and I don't necessarily agree with everything the guy has done, but I respect his courage to do and say what HE thinks is right, something many Presidents past haven't or wouldn't do.

You should also ask, Is the Left Wing of Congress more concerned with political Gain than the lives they will affect by spinning the war to a lose for political office and stature. Will their legacy be linked to Iraq and a disintegration of the Middle East and the creation of instability that will affect security of us all.

I agree with up y. There aren't many presidents that could fight the good fight in Iraq and have to fight the liberals on the home front. He has to be a special man and will have earned his good name in history. Lincoln did as well as several others. His legacy won't be so much Iraq as it will be a man who believed in himself and in his mission enough to stay true to his cause and not flip flop with public opinion. He is self disciplined, focused, and a great leader having had to do what most men couldn't do in a short space of time with what was thrown at him. His legacy will be kind to him.

He is concerned with his legacy. That's why he is doing the right thing in view of the negative spin by the media and the libs. You are confused because you listen to everyone but GWB. The libs and the media will one day be looked down on by history for the terrible way they treated a good man doing a hard job. Sham on you all.

Most people don't question the war in Afghanistan(the Taliban is kind of a big deal). And to be fair, this war is his legacy.

He will not have a legacy, with the current people of America. Although like all presidents before him they are remembered for being presidents, and rarely for what they have done.

He has removed Talibon and Saddam from having complete power in those two countries. The people who were living the good life under those regimes were very few. The rest were in a living hell.
