Since almost everything is being outsourced, why not outsource the war and save American lives?

I debated if there was a draft would most of them go to iraq or would they be dispersed around the world filling in military positions so that more experienced military get more breaks in the cycle of being sent for another term, since there is well over one million bodies in the u.s. military worldwide and only 138,000 in the primary battle to sustain iraq, why put amatuer draftees in the main battlefield?

Apparently my position was HORRIBLY missunderstood before so lets try this again I'll leave no room for ambiguity. I am AGAINST nuclear proliferation.

Many people ask, "If the U.S. has nukes what right do they have to tell others they can't?"

You see how much conflict and killing there is in the world right now? Now imagine that EVERY conflict, just or not, has the potential to be a NUCLEAR conflict. This crap in Somalia? Nuclear. Turkey and the Kurds? Nuclear. Sri Lenka and the Tamil Tigers? Nuclear. Think of every conflict that happens not only on a yearly or monthly basis but DAILY becoming a stand off between nuclear armed rivals. Eventually someone WILL slip and a whole region will go up in a mushroom cloud with global consequences.

What if you put all 120,000 US troops + coalition forces to seal Iraqi border instead of slugging it out in the streets of Baghdad and other combat zones?

Granting it's almost impossible to put ground forces on all points in & out of Iraq (particularly those it share w/ Iran, Syria), my impression is that, with US superiority in electronic warfare capabilities (satellites, drones, remote sensors), it doesn't even have to put ground forces everywhere.

Not enough equipments? What it lack in equipments...they can build.

What about the Billion-$ price tag to maintain it? I'm sure money is no object if to consider the moral and political value of each soldier killed. Besides, it is already an expensive war.

This way, US and Coalition forces can hand over the combat duties to Iraqi forces where it should be. With no weapons and supplies coming in for the militias, even a weak Iraqi security force can now handle the job.

It may be easier said than done...but it sure can be done.

It is estimated that Saddam Hussein killed 600,000 people. If that is true, then he has caused the deaths of fewer people than the Bushes have.

Consider this: George Bush Sr. instituted sanctions on Iraq which denied the country medicine and almost anything else. It is estimated that 1.5 million people died because of these sanctions.

During George Bush Sr's war in Iraq, the good ol' USA used depleted uranium bombs in southern Iraq. The radioactivity from these bombs has killed an unknown number of people and still does. Babies in these areas are still being born with birth defects.

During that same Gulf War, the USA, under George Sr. targeted the water system, the electrical system and the sewer system in order to demoralize the people and start an uprising against the government.

(Additional details will follow.)

a.) can an officer order you to re-enlist?
b.) im on stop loss going to iraq, i will go to iraq in a stop loss status, but i wont reenlist because my MOS really sucks and has no incentives at all. My main beef is the crapy duty locations ive been in 8 years without a PCS over 2300 mi away from any relative or friend, my wife and I have been showing up to funerals it just isnt worth it anymore, now im leaving again for another 18mths, I wont comment on the strain the active/and reserves are under right now.
Anayways i have heard rumor that a junior officer who i do like and respect is saying that he will order me to re-enlist, i dont know how to tactfully tell him that 1), it wouldnt be necessary as im on stop loss anyways, and number 2 i dont think thats a legitimate order, i think he is thinking bodies in key positions and its a number thing, i am going on deployemnet, thats not the issue, why reup for indefintite, that makes no sense its an 18 mth tour anyways, lol!!

Our troops have been fighting in Iraq for far too long. How can we make it out of this war without everything they have worked or being destroyed once we leave?

Have any of you heard from them in the past few days, be it e-mail or phone calls? My boyfriend is stationed over there as part of the Army National Guard, but I haven't heard from him since Christmas, and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same thing. Our relationship started not too long ago, and I've never dated someone in the military before, so I'm completely new to this.
