I planned to join AFROTC in college, but my dad said he doesn't want it interfering with college. Now my only other route would be going to OTS. My question is how great are my chances of getting accepted? Is the getting accepted into the school the hard part or going through the 12 weeks of training?

I will be moving on to a military base in Germany.. I've heard that there's a lot that goes on, on these military bases.. I trust my husband with all my heart and he trust me.. But is it true what they say, about all Military men cheat atleast one.. I married him after he had been single for a few years, he says it's all out his system.. I just hope we don't end up a statistic.. Do anyone have any advise on how I should go into this military life without getting caught up in any of the extra stuff, that goes on? And what is it like being married verses being single and staying on or by a military base?
Serious answers only please.....

NOTE: I am 100 % sure I trust my husband.. He has never gave me a reason to think that he would do anything of the sort..

After reading several questions about the war in Iraq, I had to ask the question. Being Career Military, I already know the answer, and I have seen first hand what price the Iraqis are paying. But if you had to give an honest answer to this question what would you say?

The oath to defend America against all enemies foreign and domestic does beg the question as to who defines these enemies. If the president and his crew are the domestic enemies, then those they define as enemies would actually be friends.

It is a well known fact that the iraqis and mujahideen are not very bright when it comes to firearms and tactics but they are still inflicting respectable causalties on their occupiers. If there were smarter more resourceful people fighting there how much more hell do you think they would be causing?

Besides the fact that they're more comfortable and you don't have to iron them, I personally don't care for them. They're not as durable as teh BDU/DCU. You can't sew them up easily. The zipper breaks and you're screwed. They're so light colored that they stick out in a wilderness environment. Velcro? How the hell is that tactical? My first day in the field with these I tore the arm because I caught the pen-sleeves when I took my ruck sack off. That and the crotches rip out very easily. I realize that it's a happy medium between urban and rural terrain patterns, But the marines look better than our blueish-grey suits. Any other opinions?

First of all, can somebody please explain the draft to me? How did it work, etc.

Secondly, I know you were treated badly when you came home from Vietnam...how do people treat you now?

And lastly, what are your feelings about the war in Iraq?

And I hope my questions do not offend anybody. I know this is STILL such a sensitive subject.

Hypothetically we could easily win a war with China with all the amazing explosives and nukes and other things that could go boom in our arsenal. But lets take that out of the picture. Nothing that explodes bigger than 10000 square feet is "allowed" with our highly trained marines and tactics could we win the war with chinas massive army without the use of big bombs or flinging hundreds of thousands of men at them (d-day anyone?)

We would also have to worry about guerrilla warfare with local civilians and what not which could easily turn into another Vietnam or Iraq war

You'd probably think that "Well, the U.S. would be crazy to go to war with China," Anything could happen were competing for resources as it is and it will only get worse, plus with N. Korea as a threat as I said, It could happen.
What would be your strategy??

I've been reading several articles and all say the same thing: China is taking great strides in upgrading their military particularly their air force and navy but also shrinking down their army and going for a smaller more mobile better equipped ground force. I also have heard that they are using the war on terror as a lessons learned case study. I think the big difference between Russia and China is that China's budget is sitting on a rock solid economic foundation. Will China surpass the USA?
