Could the Us win a hypothetical war with China?

Question

Hypothetically we could easily win a war with China with all the amazing explosives and nukes and other things that could go boom in our arsenal. But lets take that out of the picture. Nothing that explodes bigger than 10000 square feet is "allowed" with our highly trained marines and tactics could we win the war with chinas massive army without the use of big bombs or flinging hundreds of thousands of men at them (d-day anyone?)

We would also have to worry about guerrilla warfare with local civilians and what not which could easily turn into another Vietnam or Iraq war

You'd probably think that "Well, the U.S. would be crazy to go to war with China," Anything could happen were competing for resources as it is and it will only get worse, plus with N. Korea as a threat as I said, It could happen.
What would be your strategy??

Hell to the No. China is one of the leading exporters to the U.S. our economy would go way down. Plus there's to many of us to kill and China has lot's of allies just like the U.S and don't even think about going into a Hypathetical Nuclear War cuz China also has Nukes.

There are so many Chinese people that if you lined them all up on the Pacific Ocean, and they began walking, they could form a bridge one mile wide that stretched all the way from China to the California coast. This is not my theory, it has been stated in several articles, and so on. If we had to fight them one on one, face to face, we would be out numbered 100 to 1. There is no way. Plus, they teach their people how to fight. This country does not do that unless we pay an instructor, and then it is all show fighting. Take out the nukes, the bombs, and anything else that explodes, and I think we would lose simply because we are to few. Some weird thing could happen, and we could win. It is possible, but definitely not probable.

In my honest opinion, the U.S. will easily win the war militarily against China. During the last decade, China haven't been spending much on weapons research and development. What they've been doing is investing heavily on technology and industries. They have discovered the advantages of market economy after being admitted to WTO. They are sort of following the example of Japan. They are using economic clout and influence rather than military power. In doing so, they trust that the U.S. won't use military might against China. China had been trying hard to avoid any military confrontation with the U.S.

China only has about 90-100 nukes the U.S. has thousands, but any confrontation would lead to a third world war. An emergency draft could hugley expand are military to the 70 millions In response to bharat : I'm so scared china is developing technology we had 40 years ago! U.S.A would creme Russia would not side with china russo-sino relationships are worse than ours with cuba.

My strategy would be to continue economic cooperation and work for further democratic reforms to push them away from Communism. Hopefully, one day their people will realize they can't sustain effective growth and prosperity under an authoritarian structure. If the US and China were to go to war, they've got North Korea, Russia, Iran, and probably a few dozen other countries just itching to take a stab at us. That situation only turns out in nuclear overkill in my head, but who knows..

I don't think the US is in any position to go to war with any one (hell even Iraq is giving us a hard time). China has a border with N. Korea and Russia and they would go on the China side....Then Iran and Iraq are very close to china and we know what side they will be on. If we where to hypothetically deploy troops to the area it would have to be by sea! That means we would have to use our naval forces from the Atlantic ocean all the way to the Indian ocean and from the Atlantic ocean to the Arctic ocean to position our ships so we can attack... unload the soldiers. Then they have to go across India to attach china via land. Russia we will have to hit via air and sea.... well you see we are in no position to go to war with china. Current politics and their geographical Poseidon would be near impossible for us to penetrate..... And if we use Nuclear bombs we would also hurt our ally the British plus Russia, China and possible N.Korea have Nukes and they would retaliate with nukes to us. Hypothetically! Smile

For a start the US Marines are rubbish compared to the Chinese(i have a lot of respect for the US military) and everyone could beat them and the Chinese would win in every way,every war the US has been in,the US had to use firepower because that's the only thing they've got because their troops are poorly trained.The Chinese are a lot stronger than the US and they have more fire power so you Yanks had better shut up before the Chinese invade you and take over your country.
China has got you under it's thumb because it's more powerful and they have more nukes then you Yanks and so have
the Russians.

We would kick Chinese ***. We do have powerful allies and around 109 million available men to fight. And with China and N. Korea out of the picture we could just take over the world. That would solve all problems :)

The trick to fighting China is to do it on the ground of our own choosing. The Chinese army has incredible weakness in supply and logistics. If we make them stretch their supply lines they are toast.
