Don`t blame the soldiers---Blame the useless pricks that put them in that situation.

American soldiers will stop defending themselves when they are no longer being attacked. When will they leave Iraq? When our leaders resign themselves to the fact that they were deluded to believe that the people of Iraq could create a workable democracy.
Iraq will be at peace when the people who live there learn to embrace a single national identity as opposed to a bunch of tribal and religious identities that are at odds with each other.
Unless the people of that area decide to create a "nation" that includes all ethnic minorities and religious sects there will be fighting and killing.
Pity the poor American soldiers and civilians who were deluded to think that once the tyrant Saddam Hussein was overthrown, the people of Iraq would embrace democracy and enter the 21st century.

As a soldier in the U S Army I can tell you that if we are attacked or feel threatened we will do everything in our power to defend ourselves. You obviously have never served so stop talking of which you know nothing about. If you are in America take a moment to thank a soldier. Without us you wouldn't have the luxury to ask such questions freely.

I think your question should be, Why Can't Iraqis stop killing each other?? But my response to your question is that American soldiers must kill ,terrorists, people pointing guns at them, people who shoot at them, insurgents, people who kidnap Innocent women and children,or their parents who get dragged off at night ,then found shot in the head, and also people who plant roadside bombs, and kill Americans and more women and children , I think you get the picture ,right???

When the insurgents stop shooting at Americans, then we will stop shooting back.
You should be asking, why dont the Iraqi's want a better Iraq and help the Americans to improve their way of life?

They are not doing it because they want to, it is their jobs and the so called president has ordered them to be over there.
Second they are fighting for the freedom of the Iraqi people. I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but that is what the so called president keeps telling us. Or could it be he is making up for the inadequate attempts made by his father?
Regardless, we should support our troops, these men and women sign up to protect our freedoms that so many of us take for granted.

The american soldiers dont have a choice in this, they are there to do their job. When a soldier is called up, they must go where they are ordered to go, and they must perform the job they are told to do.

The nature of a soldiers job is to kill people and break things. When the terrorists quit attacking them they will stop, until then you are out of luck.
Semper FI my terrorist friend; the Marines are coming for you and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Enjoy martyrdom
