As much as I dislike GWB, I think he truly mourns the troops lost in Iraq and worries about the well being of the people there. I think the problem is the Trifecta (Cheney/Rove/Rumsfeld) has convinced him that they are fighting a true evil in the name of God, and this higher calling merits the sacrifice. I think his advisors have convinced him this war is for the "greater good" and they know what's best for us.

I don't think GWB is evil, just horribly mislead because he isn't smart enough to chart his own course. Ultimately, it's our own fault because we elected him twice. The American public gets exactly the representation it deserves....

Not at all. I have the feeling the troops in Iraq weighs very heavily on the president. That is a grave responsibility.

sometimes I think the American people don't give a damn about our troops, always saying we are loosing the fight, why are we there, the American soldier is the occupying terrorist. I would love to pull a Danny Bonaduce all who bad mouths our military.

i wouldn't say that he has no feelings for them, but he's not necessarily looking our for their best interest.

I just don't like how our government has created an economic trap for families; those who can't afford to go to college (since financial aid has been cut so much) really have no other choice then to join the military if they want a chance to go to school and be successful in life.

Of course he has feelings. He was in the service. His father was in WWII. Clinton was the one who hated the service.

Well, sometimes. But, I do think he means well in doing it . . . even though some of his ideas are pretty stupid.
