North Korea is one of many threats. Iraq seemed like an imminent threat and they were the most logical target. Politically, the American people already hated Saddam and after 9/11, someone in that part of the world had to go. The focus was on the Middle East (and with good reason). If the US had attacked N. Korea, then we would have been ignoring the other gathering threat.
Also, so far the North Koreans have been relatively harmless compared to the people of the Middle East. Not a lot of North Koreans trying to blow up American buildings and kill Americans in foreign Embassies.

North Korea is a huge regional threat, but there's little reach past Japan and South Korea, and we take their opinions to heart, since they have the most at stake.
The civil war, if it can be called that, in Iraq is a huge drain, but a stable Iraq could help stabilize the entire mid-east and put further burdens on al Qaeda, which is certainly a global threat. It's the longer view.

George W Bush has an inferiority complex. He is trying to prove himself to his father. That was why he ran for President. He was running indirectly against Clinton(Who defeated his father for the Presidential election). He claims to invade Iraq to undo a mistake his father did. He wanted to get rid of Saddam Hussein, which ,many prior to the last invasion of Iraq, believe That Bush senior screwed up by letting Saddam stay in power. Other's around him encourage Bush to do so because they have oil interest in Iraq. Bush is not a very smart man, and his cabinet was able to manipulate him. Because of Bushes obsession, he was distracted from other problems like North Korea, and wasted a lot of resources in spying on Iraq, rather than trying to look at the bigger picture.

I agree with those of you who said we are in Iraq because of President Bush's father, and oil.
I think George felt obligated to go destroy destroy destroy, and finish what his pappy didn't. Total crap, all the lives that have been lost due to our stupid president.
And Oil, big issue with Mr. Bush. He is very money hungry, and where does he get his money, from the fricken oil! And again, all the lives lost due to our presidents greed.
This makes me feel kind of ashamed being a citizen of the united states. The whole world seems to be laughing at us, because our president is dumb.
North Korea is a very scary threat. I think it has been put on the back burner (so to say) until our President grows some guts and pulls our troops out of the middle east.

we are in Iraq because George Bush had a personal issue (he threatened George Sr) so when 9-11 happened he used that as an excuse to get rid of sadam hussan. After he messed up their country he had no clue how to get out. So now we are stuck until someone has enough stones to say get out now and let the chips fall where they may
no matter when we leave Iraq will finish their civil war... right now we are distracting them from what they need to do

I have a feeling North Korea is next, but it's much more delicate. We KNOW Korea has nukes and we KNOW they will use them. We are only in Iraq to bring democracy, as soon as it's stable, we will leave and in 2 years, we'll probably go to Korea to change them to Democracy...
