I debated if there was a draft would most of them go to iraq or would they be dispersed around the world filling in military positions so that more experienced military get more breaks in the cycle of being sent for another term, since there is well over one million bodies in the u.s. military worldwide and only 138,000 in the primary battle to sustain iraq, why put amatuer draftees in the main battlefield?

It didn't work in Viet Nam. The draftees would probably fill non combat roles.

If the draft was reintroduced draftees, after completing basic training, would go anywhere they are needed, since there is a shortage of military in Iraq, they would probably send to Iraq.

life is short. in my thoughts the only draftees that should go to iraq are the junkies and down right idiots, so they can get a good taste of life. The U.S. will never go back to a draft because the dont want no more idiots like you that ask a stuiped question like this so have nice day in your own mind

There is not going to be a draft. If there was, their orders would most likely say Iraq or what ever hot spot the troops were needed.

Yes, they probably would. So far 5,500 soldiers have fled to canada seeking asylum. With many soldiers realizing that the war in Iraq was not about protecting America from non-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction, but rather about securing more oil for US corporations, they are leaving their posts in droves.

These numbers also tell a story about the morale of those soldiers on the ground in Iraq who've been lied to by their government and held much longer than originally promised in Iraq.

The American public has likewise been lied to, and thus it's taking a very long time for people to mobilize in opposition to the war. What happened to all those who came out in opposition before the war? Where are the protests like we saw during Vietnam when up to 500,000 people came out one day in the biggest protest against that war?

In Europe MILLIONS came out against the US & British & Spanish involvement in the war. Yet Americans seem to be either so ignorant or apathetic or still supporting this illegal war.

America where is your voice against this injustice & state sponsored terrorism?

Hey Pinkcall, how would your morale be if all you heard and read about is an illegal war, and that you are just killing innocent civilians, women and children? When the news media reports only negative stories about Iraq, and fails to mention the accomplishments there. Maybe you should think before you speak.

draftees would be sent where they are needed!

To answer the last part og the question, you place draftees in the main battle field as bullet stoppers.

Thats really a matter of speculation. You have to understand how long it would take to go through the process of conscription and training of these troops and what the needs of the country would be at the time.
