Military - October 2006

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Military

A lot of the posts and so forth seem to validate this view . Americans see war death and suffering as if it were a footbal game.

The news you have the mentality that seems glorified is one of muderous blood thirsty tyrants who enjoy war .

It seems the Presidents go around the world hoping to get into a fight -

Some seemingly most in the US appear to want this - they see it as being tough - most others around the globe see it as the sign of a brute animal with no redeeming quality of human worth ...

So why is it it seems so many Americans appear to think and act in this barbaric animalistic fashion - Or is it just the few - the stupid the retarted or otherwise socially unaceptable that just happen to have to much of a voice in the media and so forth .

Or is this view of a rabid dog on the loose acurate of the majority of Americans ?

...to do with the question or answer...?

they always like to note their former service in the "sources" field when the question doesnt really mention the military or anything pertaining to it and neither does thier answer...

they just reply with thier political opinion and then as a source they put "USAF vet" or some other military service...

Former service may have something to do with ones opinion, but it seems to me more like its being used to make them seem like their opinion is better than someone elses, better than other people who served and didn't feel the need to point it out... and ive seen some people say they served and they dont point it out every opportunity they get.

a lot of people on here will mention what they did in the armed forces and what that has to do with the question they answer GOOD!

Military service is something to be proud of... why use simply as a weak attempt to make yourself look better... that seems cheap!

Now American & British troops have plummeted Iraq into civil war. Should coalition troops be withdrawn? More Iraqi civilians have been killed since the 'invasion', than they ever did under Saddams regime.

A report by the Lancet claims that 650,000 Iraqis have died since the American led invasion. That's a staggering amount of dead people.

All these blood thirsty people understand is might and strength. It is foolish to think we can talk them out of killing. We need to fight fire with greater fire. Who agrees?

Such as Iran, N. Korea, and the hunt for Osama? What would we do if the Korean issue escalated? They know they can do whatever they want bacuse the U.S. Military is already spoken for for the next 4 years at least.

The United States military is having a tough time with the insurgents.

I have a debate in U.S. history tomorrow, and I have to argue that all troops should be removed from Iraq in 30 days. I only chose the topic to balance it the group, and hence, will somewhat play Devil's Advocate. I've got a few ideas, but still I'd like to know what you think.

For anyone seeing this topic, provide one good reason, if you can. This topic will close at 9:00 PM EST sharp, and if only one person answers it, I'll choose them for the best answer by defult. Now, I'm sure there are plenty of reasons to stay and fight, but I don't care to hear them at this time. Just reasons for leaving.

Good luck :)
