In the Army there are jobs that people who don't test well can do very well. I've had cooks that I can't understand how these guys passed high school, but good lord they could do amazing things with field rations.

I can't speak to the Marines as I have only served in the Army, but I can tell you that the job you lock in while in the Army is very important. A job that is academically demanding is not right for you. The bottom line is that some jobs require different skills, and sometimes test-taking skills are not important, but your dedication to your job will be. . . . it is easier to stay dedicated to a job in which you can excel . . . so ask your recruiter about jobs that are not academically demanding.

Westfield....

If she didnt score well enough for the Marines then there is no way her scores will meet the AF standards.

The Marines and the Army have the lowest test scores so I think your only choice is going to be Army.

I would say Air Force, because they generally have much smarter people that enter, but you failed the Marine test. Doubt that you would make it in the Air Force. Keep in mind that the Army just removed all entry criteria for entry. So if you have a pulse and a high school education you'd be accepted.

Personally, I would go Air Force, because they have better high tech training and a higher caliber of people who enter.

If you're a female please join the army. The marines is no place for a woman. Marines are the most fearsome fighting force in the world. Army = Aint Ready to be a Marine Yet.

You have 3 choices
1) wait 3 months and take the ASVAB again to get in the Marines
2) make sure you get a good MOS in the Army
3) Join the Air Force
any service sucks if you get a bad job

Speak to all branches of the military, then sign with the one that gives you the best deal. It could be job assignment, rank or even money. I had better offers from other branches but I joined the Marines. I enjoyed it but I often wonder if I should have chosen differently

I was a Marine and loved it. I would do it again, too. I never gave another branch of service any consideration, but I know people from all branches and I guess there is good and bad with each of them.

It's all a matter of personal preference, but I say Marines all the way.

well, I'm a Marine Wife...lol..so i will say Marines...but both has their ups and downs...but u should be damn proud to be part of either one. If it where me i would say Air Force, but if u didn't test good.... i don't know what ur score was on the ASVAB..and u have to get a 35 to go to AF(from what i understand)

i went with the marines. 5 years. i got out in january of 01, before all hell broke loose. i was married to a girl in the army. there are definitely differences. overall (and there are always exceptions), the marines take more pride in themselves and their performance, and are more respected (and feared) by foreign militaries than the regular army. times have changed though. and either way, youre just going to be more meat for the grinder.

I would chose the Army. I don't even want to comment on the marines.
