Military - October 2006

Apparently now it's no longer, "An Army of One", but "Army Strong". Troops are not expected to combat "terror" in Afghanistan, but "fear and chaos". And testing standards have been lowered -- to some success -- in getting more aspiring soldiers signed up.

Anyway....will this help the shortfall seen in recruiting goals since 2001? And does anyone think the draft is inevitable, if we continue our current operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Mexican border, and now possibly North Korea and/or Iran?

If N. Korea decides to sell Al Qaeda a nuke bomb that they can put on a cargo ship and set it off in any American harbor, besides having the US navy/coast guard checking every ship that is to dock in a US port (crippling the US economy) how will we know if a ship has a nuclear bomb on it or not?

I ask bacause under the present situations ,school shootings ,suicide ,drugs, illeteracy , a i dont care attitude in our young men , contrary to the young men in North Korea who are trained , educated and thaught to be oproud of their country or beliefs, Iam wondering how this will turn out? Basically is the morale of our youth , Iam in question ,as it is a generation of pulls of religion vs atheism , gays ,straights, abortion on demand or babies , in fact if this U.S.A. cant come around to its center it will find out how one can loose from within! I pray not!

Think about it - we have a very powerful and well-trained military, but an extreme (and a very laudable) societal aversion to casualties. Knowing this, how would you fight against the US? And do you think the US could win?

I'm just curious what people are thinking.

To all those military experts out there, how exactly are we going to win the war against the "Axis of evil" & "the war on terror" without causing a nuclear war?

Your education system sounds pretty baked eh? Or is that the sound of the voting machines I hear making fake votes again?

It isn't Liberal, Republican yadayadayayda left wing right wing yadyaya... It's Jew-Corruption. Nothing else. And you have no say in changing it. And if you think you do? There are ever only 2 candidates who have a CHANCE at winning - and you don't think they BOTH have ties to Israel??!!

from the LA Times:
"North Korea must be treated as a regional problem to be managed by a regional concert of powers, with China in the lead. The U.S. role in all this should be sympathetic — and distant."

I know that some feel that we didn't go to war in Iraq for the reasons that the President said, but are we avoiding war with North Korea for an unlegitliment reason or is not going to war a better idea?

i mean terrorism is an idea the more we attack them the more we give them a reason to hate us, it's in their religion to attack us and in my view it's pretty hard to deafeat a reliogion by pure physical force,
