I know that some feel that we didn't go to war in Iraq for the reasons that the President said, but are we avoiding war with North Korea for an unlegitliment reason or is not going to war a better idea?

Just to update those that think I don't read the news. Ms. Rice Stated that they will not do anything about going to war with N. K. after N.K. stated that if their are any more sanction or 6 party talks they will test more bombs. Iraq claimed to not have any WMD and we assumed what we could of done if he did, though we still found nothing proving any capable abilities of development. N.K. is sending rockets and are having bomb test. Need more proof. Excuse my bias, but what more of a hunch do we U.S. citizens need and how are we measuring and determining when and how we act if there is no consistency?

yes of course, N Korea is a barren waistland with nothing to offer the resource hungry land of the free. But, on top of that, we don't want to start a fight when there is a really good chance either they will first, or one of their neighbors will. How do you think they estimate their chances against the US? Even if they launched on the Western US they have to know we'd a) shoot down the missle and b) turn North Korea into a glass bowl. What is more likely is that since Japan and other nations are now starting to starve them and boycott their goods, N Korea will probably lash out at them first. Either way, it is a sad time for N Korea, their people starve while their leader flaunts his egomania and spends billions strengthening his military for a nonexistent enemy. Where is God when you need him?

Two other things must be factored in:

1) Propensity of the regime to allow the WMD technology to be sold.
2) Propensity of the regime to cooperate with Islamic terrorists.

On both of these counts Iraq is (or was) a greater threat than North Korea.

North Korea is just too damn weird to cooperate with Al-Qaeda. They would be the ultimate odd couple if they ever did sit down together at a table.

North Korea is a threat on their own. They are VERY isolationist. They don't create alliances or work with outside groups against a common enemy. In that regard, they aren't a big factor in the larger "war on terror." It is almost exclusively Islamic theocracies that are the targets in that regard.

Stick to games , not international affair......

WMD's were in Iraq. We have found chem weapon caches. Saddam also had the money, the will & the science guys to make more.
We are not doing Nothing about North Korea. If you would stop your game play and read. We have been engaged in 6 partty talks over the issue for some time. We have also sought UN inspection of their facilities. We have been in creasing defenses in the region. We have continued the work on the limited missle defense system to counter NK as well.

I understand that North Korea is a major threat, but the USA does not have the manpower to start a war with North Korea because most of our troops are in Iraq or Afganistan. Unless they reinstate the draft, who will fight in this war?

I agree. I wish that some of the talking heads on tv and radio would bring this up. It seems that everyone has selective memory, or know that WMD's weren't the reason we went to war with Iraq so they see the point as moot.

or moo, like a cows opinion :)

Yep, that's a pretty concise assessment of the situation.

It's a pity that the CIA, Delta or someone can't stage a "nuclear accident" in N. Korea to deal with their nuclear program - but maybe they're saving that for Iran.

The UN is participating. They weren't with the invasion of Iraq. We were left alone (not really, there were many countries that agreed with us) to take care of the problem.

Yeah it's so stupid. We attacked Iraq and waste our taxmoney and soldiers there, where we let Israel and North Korea free with their nukes
