Apparently now it's no longer, "An Army of One", but "Army Strong". Troops are not expected to combat "terror" in Afghanistan, but "fear and chaos". And testing standards have been lowered -- to some success -- in getting more aspiring soldiers signed up.

Anyway....will this help the shortfall seen in recruiting goals since 2001? And does anyone think the draft is inevitable, if we continue our current operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Mexican border, and now possibly North Korea and/or Iran?

The motto change wasn't a biggee, just wasn't as popular as "Be All You Can Be".
Yes, the Army lowers entrance standards from time to time to make up recruiting shortfalls. While I believe all the services met their quotas, for those folks who think the services are getting folks no problem keep in mind that recruiting is a big shell game. They do a lot of number shuffling, like a shell game. Also, the Army Reserve did not make its goals this year, I believe.
Moral and legal waivers number tend to go up and then aptitude and medical standards get lowered.

The draft is a distinct possibility. It has been the rule, not the exception in our history. Numbers are finite and when the services stop getting the minimum from the pool of availiable 18 year olds, it could ask for reinstatement of the draft.

Wow, it incredibly is somewhat a bounce you made there. criminal waivers equals murdering harmless civilians in Iraq? The waivers they are concerning advise something from site visitors violations to drug use. they do no longer provide waivers for severe offenses. i comprehend which you human beings might decide to have self assurance that the militia is packed with idiots which will no longer be able to make it doing something in existence, yet that merely skill which you haven't any longer have been given any real wisdom of real infantrymen. those that are brave, no longer uncomplicated working, finished lively, selfless those that placed themselves on the line so as that morons (very corresponding to your self) can flow out spewing political jargon everywhere. in line with risk somewhat of bashing, you may guy up and connect something worth on an analogous time as.

The Army enlistment motto changes all the time. This is no major issue, that's for sure.

Also, you need to get your facts strait. No branch of service is having a problem meeting their quota. My hubby is a Drill Sergeant for BCT (Army) and they haven't had a fill problem yet. Classes are full.

You need to recheck your numbers. All the branches are meeting their recruitment goals. Some are even exceeding it. This has turned around since 2005.
