With the experience Israel had in fighting the Hezbollah, where boots on the ground were not that effective in fighting an enemy living in caves with rockets, and the US Army being held hostage in the deserts of Iraq; is there an alternative to the coming fight with Iran?

They had to save the Americans back in the 1770's and then they had to help them destroy the Taliban in Afghanistan, and now they got the Hezbollah mess. Not to mention all the whining about sending the French into the disastrous quagmire known as Iraq. Why the French?

I want to join the military but don't want to go through bootcamp. I just hate having to part with my family and going through the torture of PT and drill sergeants. Are there jobs I can have in the military that require no bootcamp? My husband had mentioned that doctors and nurses with degrees of course don't need bootcamp...is this true?

Many families waited a year to see there spouse and childrens to see mom or dad, then one day President Bush decides after they are all packed up with joy they are told to turn around and go back to Iraq now to Baghdad. Many hearts were broken that day because they did there time and were ready to return home and to troops that were taking over were there has well. WHY? cheaper to just keep them there? I miss my hubby and I am sure many do too also wives that had to stay behind..I do not believe this is fair, the family is also a strong part of the military and to just tell us to get over it they will be home in another 4 months is not right? Our troops are there taking care of there family and helping them out but who really cares about us the wives, children? Would it not be nice to consider our feelings because we sure are considering the feelings of people in Iraq.

Nigeria, one of the richest oil giant in the world, but its people have been suffering an abject poverty, hunger, disease, manultrition, unemployment etc. Its so-called democratic leaders stashed away millions of oil dollars in UK, US and other Middle East countries now wans to stay in power by all means beyond the stipulated period, thus giving the interntional community too much headache all the time. A friend yesterday sent me an email asking me if President Bush can volunteer to attack Nigeria, perhaps with the intention of returning the country to its former glory period of the 60s. But the million dollar question is what would happen if Mr. Bush decides to launch the attack? I am not good at either military or politics, so I need someone to give a good answer to my friend. But I would hate to receive any answer from the Iraqis or Afghans.

I want my news to be as nonbiased as possible. I prefer to take in the facts before someone else interprets them for me. I am perfectly capable of reaching my own conclusions. I don't want a conservative or a liberal slant. Just the facts. I'm tired of photos being 'enhanced' for viewing pleasure.

My husband just left for a four-month training TDY a few hours ago, and I find that I'm worried, upset, panicked and pretty scared by the thought of myself and my young daughter alone with no one to help remember things like when bills are due or appointments are coming up--although, granted, I tend be the one to do that. Add to that the fact that I'm military as well and will have to deal with daycare issues on a crazy schedule. I'm just wandering if I will gradually get used to it as the time goes by, or if I will be highly stressed out for four months. Is it easier as new TDY's come up, too, to part from your spouse when they leave?
