There is no class such as the DDR. It may have been decommissioned.

This has been an interesting challenge..............www.destroyersonline.com doesn't list a Franklin Wright, but as otherwise noted, a Frank E Evans as DD 754......and Mc Kean as a Gearing class DD 784

and Frank Evans DD754 was in operation Wigwam; one link is below and if you Google Operation Wigwam you get several hits........so maybe the ship was the Evans, more on her at destroyerson line........and the DDR was a destroyer modified with extra large radars to act as an anti air raid early warning or fighter direction ship, usually out of the Sumner or Gearing classes

DD-784 was the USS McKean, a GEARING class destroyer commissioned in 1945, and eventually given to Turkey in 1982.

If you have the name or the DD number, you can do a search on Google and probably find it. I was surprised to learn there was a WW2 destroyer named for my home town and found it with a google search.
