Would the USA invade us?

It is a hyperthetical question but to provoke thought on why would a super power attack another country in current times. The USA is quite an easy target, but no apologies there.
I think they would not invade.
But the question begs, what criteria woes a country need to have to benefit from such an action?
Answer this question in its entirety, compare the differences, equate to to your own countries' philosophy and culture, and hey presto. The hyperthetical questions bounces right back in your face (well it does for me).

The british government would be rubbing its hands at the prospect of lots more revenue in fuel taxes, and you can be sure that prices will not drop.
