Nigeria, one of the richest oil giant in the world, but its people have been suffering an abject poverty, hunger, disease, manultrition, unemployment etc. Its so-called democratic leaders stashed away millions of oil dollars in UK, US and other Middle East countries now wans to stay in power by all means beyond the stipulated period, thus giving the interntional community too much headache all the time. A friend yesterday sent me an email asking me if President Bush can volunteer to attack Nigeria, perhaps with the intention of returning the country to its former glory period of the 60s. But the million dollar question is what would happen if Mr. Bush decides to launch the attack? I am not good at either military or politics, so I need someone to give a good answer to my friend. But I would hate to receive any answer from the Iraqis or Afghans.

Politically it's impossible - true Nigeria is an extremely corrupt country and it's citizens are far poorer than they should be given the adundance of natural resources the country has. One main reason for this is that the western oil countries are making the lions share of the profits for the oil leading to situation where oil workers are frequently kidnapped and pipe-lines sabotaged. It's not such a brutal government however as to warrant a "liberation". Chimpy could still invade but it would be a better strategy to fund increases in security in the oil produceing regions.

Militarily - I don't know too much about the Nigerian military but a country of 120 million is going to close to impossible to control, esp. as the US would probably start by murdering off a load of civilians turning the rest of the country against them.

I dont know if your friend is a Nigerian. But definately Nigerians would not want any war on their soil. We've seen what happened in iraq, Somalia. former checkoslovakia etc. whit all the depleted uranium amunitions that are causing all sorts of toxic infections i dont think any Nigerian would buy that. Nigerians definately want Obasanjo out of Aso rock by the end of his tenure in 2007 but not through any military action.

the nigeria armed forces does not have much military hardware. they are a well experienced side, highly committed, disciplined and loyal. any attack by the US would be suicidal as Nigerian experience would be worse than Somalia. they would not just sparingly kill your soldiers to prove to you they too can fight, but they would put up everything they have in them and they would not run.

so please dont even think about it.

At least you admit you're "not good" at this. Tell your friend that we are kind of busy right now. And by the way, The President does NOT "decide" to "launch an attack". It's a bit more complicated than that. I'm sorry for the horrors going on in Africa. And everywhere else for that matter. But, the US can't do everything for everyone. Funny how the world condemns us for getting into it..condemns us for NOT getting into it...Condemns us for getting into it, but not getting out fast enough...Get the point?? "Stay out of it!!"... "Help us!!!" "Stay out of it!!" " Why don't they help them??" ****!!

If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.
