He is a Christian fundamentalist. A very special form of madness, which is seen as being an essential prerequisite for assuming power by millions of Americans.

No, George Bush is not mad. If you take a look at his actions, they all proceed out of a logical chain of thought. This is not to say that they are all valid actions. According to the rules of logic, all that is required for a logical argument is that the final conclusions result from initial statements, regardless of whether those statements are true or not. Bush's war on terrorism is a direct result of a persistant growth of fanatics who corrupt Islam to their own ends, as well as attacks on the US (USS Cole, the embassy bombings, WTC on 9/11/01). You can freely disagree with the need to take those actions, but they are undertaken with an eye for solving real-world problems. For that reason, he is not mad (or insane).

Some people also believe he's crazy because of his disregard for poll numbers, asking "How could a person elected by the people not care about poll numbers? He must be nuts!" However, poll numbers are instantaneous snapshots subject to immediate and sudden passion, not accurate depictions of the public's well-reasoned thoughts on a real solution to a problem. As such, most politicians out for the public good tend not to focus on poll numbers nearly as much as the media and demogogues do. Whether Bush is one of these officials out for the public good is debatable, but he is ascribing to a common and logical view when he disregards polls.

Hope that helps!

Do you mean crazy or upset? I think he's just very arrogant and plain dumb. He follows the advice of his cronies and does what ever it takes to avoid responsibility. Tries to use the ignorance of some Americans against themselves (Such as using the War in Iraq and religion to win the election)..

In my opinion he's the worse president this country has had since I've been alive (39 years)... An unfortunately he's setting the stage for the republicans to rule for the next 20 years. Even if the Democrats win, it will take years to fix the damage Bush as done. (Damage in foreign relations, the environment, corporate greed, the economy, health acre... the list goes on)

One last statement... I'm not against all republicans and not for all democrats... I wish we elected people based on who they were and not what party they were in. I also think we should do away with the electorial vote... its just stupid. America has to wake up and make educated votes. We need to stop electing people because they are celebrities or have a lot of money for advertising. Somewhere among us is a very smart leader... we just have to find him/her and elect that person. (Wishful thinking I guess)

He is neither mad in the sense of being mentally deranged, nor is he mad in the sense of being angry and upset.

But he seems to be responsible for mentally unbalancing a good portion of the world. Bush Derangement Syndrome, where people become drooling ranting hate-filled lunatics at the sight or mention of Bush. You will find a lot of examples of it here on Y!A.

At least I can tell he doesn't have a good view on the world if he tells everybody "they're either with or against him". Many people will not choose for him. Many in the US seem to start realizing theur mistake ow too. All in al I think he's just not too clever and he's manipulated in this position by the hawks and religious fanatics, using the popularity of his father. All G.W. does is enjoying the ride, wherever it may take him.

He's a genius. If Iraq breaks out into civil war, the extremists everywhere are exposed as fools. That includes Republicans, Democrats, Sunnis, Shiites, Israelis, etc.

Georg W. Bush is holding one of the most respectable post in the world. His policies not only affect USA but entire world. Political issues are very complex in nature require a very deep knowledge of world affairs. We may have difference with him in his approach. Remarks made by you are uncalled for.
