military units is permanently trained for combat, but they are also involved in peace support operations. I know that on the time of operational training at home, commanders of squad, platoon and company have to build strong unit (vertikal cohesion and horisontal cohesion). The human element in the army is crucial.
Is there any corelation between cohesion-stress-motivation-leadership...

How does the OCS officer selection board rate one against other while picking a candidate?

My husband submitted his OCS pakage. He has 8 years prior service in the Navy. He was in intel. He was a supervisor in his section. He has bachelors degree. I guess he is wondering what his chance of being selected is against other candidates.

The United States has been pretty busy in the Middle East. Should we continue to walk over them and mess up their culture while look for terrorists, or should we just get out and stay out?

INSURGENTS TO HALT ATTACKS! Story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060628/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_060628170117;_ylt=A9G_RxpuEKNElB8ArgpX6GMA;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

Let me be clear. I was in the military 6yrs in Europe & Mid-East. I wholeheartedly support our current mission of planting democracy in the geographic heart of the Muslim world. I know, AFTER we leave, it will prosper & spread to neighboring populations in Iran, Syria, Saudi, Egypt, Yemen, etc. And that with reform, democracy, & modern education (in 10-20yrs) there will be no one willing to listen to the cult of evil which is extremist militant Islam (read bin Laden if you like). We've never wanted a war in Iraq against the Sunni insurgents, just al Qaeda.

Short & sweet, would you accept terms from Sunni insurgents to pull out all troops in two years CONDITIONAL on their support to destroy al Qaeda & spin up Iraqi defense forces & democratic govt?

Israeli gunboats circled the wounded 'Liberty,' firing at crewmen trying to fight the fires. At 1515, the crew were ordered to abandon ship. The Israeli warships closed and poured machine gun fire into the crowded life rafts, sinking two. As American sailors were being massacred in cold blood, a rescue mission by US Sixth Fleet carrier aircraft was mysteriously aborted on orders from the White House.

I hear a lot about bringing our troops home. Too many are dying. Etc...etc.. (i.e. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqHKksZ_XAbHuXFnhmgtfbTsy6IX?qid=20060613064909AAu6Fp5 )
What message would be sent to our troops as well as to the terrorists if we brought our troops home now before their job was done? Wouldn't we be demoralizing our troops and at the same time showing the terrorists that if they just kill one of us on tv we'll run away with our tail between our legs? What happened to "staying the course?"
