It was launched and christened Sep17, 1944 in Lorain, Oh. I have researched it because it involves my family, but maybe there's somewhere else to look that I do not know about. Thanks for any help. (U.S.S. Embattle AM226).

USS Embattle, a 650-ton Admirable class minesweeper, was built at Lorain, Ohio. Commissioned in April 1945, she was headed for the Western Pacific when Japan agreed to surrender in August of that year. During late 1945 and early 1946 she was employed in postwar mine clearance operations in the Ryukyu Islands and off Japan. USS Embattle decommissioned at Shanghai, China, in late May 1946 and was transferred to China. She subsequently had over four decades' service in the Republic of China's Navy and Customs Service, under the name Hung Hsing (sometimes transliterated as Yung Hsing).

Unfortunately, since your certain ship served for so little time in the US Navy, very little information is available.
