What I think we should do as far as a serious answer goes is: equip the Iraqi "army" with some modern equipment. We then give the Iraqi government a 1 billion dollar loan. We start to pull troops out at a rate of 100 per week. By the time we get out the politicians will have agreed to this new idea. Allow the Iraqis to pay back their loan in a steady river of oil until we all switch to something new. The Iraqi people would be grateful and the government would become our strongest ally. Iran would then try to make Iraq more like it, but we will be liked more. We will economically be in a better position and there would be nothing to complain about. The Iraqis will be able to defend themselves and it should all be good.

Why do I feel like I answer this question every day. I know it's not just you but a lot of folks ask and unfortunately the answer is not yet we have to wait now that we are in there leaving is not so easy. I have friends and family there and wish all of this never happened but because it did we now have to ride it out. If we pull out now, we would have more insurgent attacks, the regular Iraqi's would be slaughtered and the internal war there would escalate beyond the boarders into Syria, Iran and Kuwait so we would end up back over there to help. It's a no win situation.

We have to make sure Iraq is ready, or we'll have a terrorist nation planning ways to attack us. I think we have to stay there, give the Iraqi government power, and help them enforce that power. This isn't like Vietnam. With Nam, we didn't have to worry about terrorists taking over and attacking us. We had to worry about a communist nation there, but the threat was mutual, and neither side wanted to attack the other for fear of total destruction. Terrorists are willing to destroy the entire world so long as it means getting rid of the infidels. This war is not a war we've ever fought before, so the exact methods of pulling out cannot be fully understood yet.

No one wants mass civil war to break out with out a strong central government and law enforcement.
It we leave that is what will happen.
Leaving is easy. Hop into all the trucks and tanks and drive south to Kuwait. hope on a ship and go home.
What happens next will get very ugly.

We do not pull out until the job is finished! Why do you all think that we need to jump ship on them?

Just pack it up and leave. Bush can think of some lie. He hasn't had a problem in the past.

No one except the Bush administration who is negotiating that situation right now.
The liberals whine about it.
The republicans get it done.
