military units is permanently trained for combat, but they are also involved in peace support operations. I know that on the time of operational training at home, commanders of squad, platoon and company have to build strong unit (vertikal cohesion and horisontal cohesion). The human element in the army is crucial.

When people are faced with great stress or obstacles to overcome, they will come together to support, fight & defend one another. It makes a military unit, a team & a country stronger.
As the military builds schools, water system & defend cilivans, they grow closer & stronger.

Stress and both Combat and Peacekeeping missions build cohesion. This is the main cohesion that needs to be built in a unit. This is why the soldiers at the Burn Center in San Antonio and Physical Therapy/Rehab with prosthetics in Walter Reed.
