I have, it was in 1985. My last time there was in 2001 though. It is a small military post on the top of a hill outside of Oijongbu. Yes, that's right, Oijongbu, you know, the village they talk about on MASH. By the way, a little bit of trivia for you, there actually was a MASH unit stationed outside of Oujongbu, it just wasn't the 4033 MASH. When I was there it was the base camp for the 2nd Infantry Division Field Artillery Battalion. Go out one gate and you had a Korean prison and the road to Oijongbu, go out the other and you had the bars and stores and restaurants, along with a little village. Since it was downhill going out either gate, after a night of drinking in the village, it was rough going back up the hill towards base. Anything esle you want to know, just ask.

I was posted At Camp Casey in 2004, practically next door to Camp Stanley. I wish I were still there.

cantcu -- Yes, they did pave the roads, (and there are a lot of cars there now, apparently asians in Asia can't drive, either). No, they don't play Paul Anka anymore, and no, the 7th ID isn't there anymore, I think they are currently operating out of Ft. Carson. I wish I could have been there just five years earlier, though. Ever since Fox News did a report about the "goings on" in and around Tongducheon and Oijongbu, they have been closing down clubs left and right. It's been pretty much dead down there ever since.

I was at Camp Stanley from Jan. 2003 - Jan. 2004. I missed my family; but Oijeonbu was fun. Seoul was better.
