I recall seeing something in the credits about the show being based off Delta Force, but maybe that was my imagination. If the show doesn't portray any military branch very well, which is closest as far as the missions, training etc?

Also, do you like the show (no bearing on best answer, just curious)? I don't like the parts about the wives day-to-day lives, but I do enjoy when Dennis Haysbert and the gang kick azz and take names.

Could you tell the difference in a combatant and a civilian if you were a soldier /Marine operateing in Iraq? How can you tell? If you opened a door to a house across the street from where a bomb killed 3 Marines and you had an instant to judge Friend or enemy. What criteria do you use?

Now, the other day we were doing a debate, and [the Republicans] said, “Well, Beirut was a different situation. We cut and run.” We didn’t cut and run. President Reagan made the decision to change direction because he knew he couldn’t win it. Even in Somalia, President Clinton made the decision, “We have to, we have to change direction…need to change direction. We can’t win a war like this.”
In his 37 years in the military, John Murtha won two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star with a Combat "V," and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. As a Democratic congressman from Pennsylvania for the past 31 years, he has been a fierce hawk, championing conflicts in Central America and the Persian Gulf
Now for some idiotic reason certain traitors on a certain end of the political spectrum have taken his observations on Beirut and Somalia to mean that he actually endorsed the pullouts before they took place. This is not the case, he just said that sometimes you have to change your path.

In history class we have talked about many wars in the past. However never have any of my teachers ever gone into detail about WWI, I know it has a lot to do with Germany, which led Germans to believe in Hitler causing WWII. What my question is, is how was the war started, what happened during it, who was involved, and how did WWI end?

Why do we have to fight a war for the freedom of the Iraqi people, when other countries that are closer to our borders are poor countries and we do not fight for their freedom from oppression? Iraq is a country with fanatic religions that will never agree with one another no matter what we do for them. We should not be trying to heal their inner struggles that we do not even understand.

Wanting to speak to anyone in the SF Bay Area that is considering enlisting. I'd like to ask what beliefs, perceptions, plans and hopes you have from enlisting. This is not a liberal, Bush bashing, troop hating effort. I am trying to find out what people think and believe.

During the beginning of the war when the AirForce was doing alot of air raids Fox news channel would report on attacks wich were planned to occur, as much as a day in advance in some cases, they would quote sources in the white house, or pentagon for leaking the info. Do you think it is possible that Osama might have had someone with a Satalite dish, Fox news channel, and a cell phone. I mean come on how hard is it to find a 6'4 60+ yr old middle eastern man on dialasis???

It is said that as long as there are a minimum of two people living on this planet, there will be war! Why run away from the truth then?

Human race will ultimately end up in a war of its own making. Do you agree or has the human race evolved enough to prevail in peace?
