More people talking about oil again......for gods sake do some research and see where Iraqs oil is actually going (here is a clue...they speak French).

Even if the war itself was wrong and we were all lied to, taking the troops out now whilst the Iraqi army is still unable to control the security situation will lead to the deaths of thousands of civilians.

That would be compounding a crime with a crime.

Did you flunk History, if I were a History Teacher and you were my student I would prolly be giving you an F on the assignment about what happened after World War II

How long did it take to rebuild Germany and Japan?

The same time it is gonna take to rebuild Iraq, oh and for those of you who hate Oil, if you hate Oil that much then please turn off your Electricity get rid of your Cars and all your Electronics and start living like the Amish, and if ya can't do that then please quit crying enough tears to fill a Wine Glass.

I have no idea. If he understood that after the fall of Iraq and the establishment of Al Qaeda there, Al Qaeda would be pouring terrorists and thousands of tons of explosives across our borders (they will have enough oil wealth to buy anything), he might get smart enough to bring home the troops to give us as much protection as possible.

such passion in the answers.

hard to believe people with such extremely different views think they are right.

we are not winning anything. it's a mess but we need to phase out the troops little by little. this is with hoping they (iraq) can build up some kind of policing force and not fall into a civil war.

because irag doesn't exist.

He won't pulle us out of Iraq because the country would then be taken by the insurgents, kind of like Somalia.

If U.S. troops were pulled out today, what would happen?
Civil War. Terrorist & Insurgent activity would skyrocket, countless civilian lives would be lost. Anarchy would spread to Afghanistan, Syria, and Iran. I suppose you think that would be better?

maybe this will help...

if someone is bullying you, and you stand up to him and prove you won't be bullied, he will stop bullying you.

but if he beats you, he will bully you for a very long time.

if we pull out of Iraq before we have proven we won't be bullied, we will have more attacks like 9/11...do you want to take the chance that the next attack won't happen where you live?

If he took the army out he'd be admitting he was wrong! I don't remember any blood sucking politician ever doing that!
