Be honest, And why do you do it? Do you think it's cool? Does it give you a natural high to see if you can get away with it or not?

I'm just curious because I personally would not drive stoned. I think it's a really irresponsible thing to do and is dangerous as well.

Can't they arrest people who drive stoned if caught as well? Is it really worth it?

Don't some attorney's cross over. Like they start out as a prosecutor and cross over to defenses. Or they start out as defense attorney and cross over as prosecutor? What drives them to cross over?

Is this acceptable in the eyes of the law. The officer drops his partners badge on a desk and starts to read the suspect his Miranda rights. When the suspect stops the officer in protest and request the officers badge number. His partner storms in the room yelling "give me my badge", give me my badge.

What is the crime if any committed by this officer?

and chose to take the traffic school courses to avoid deduction of my traffic record. But I haven't received any traffic school list from the court and the court website doesnt provide any info on this neither does the telephone representatives respond saying there are too many phone calls waiting.
I've paid extra amount for my traffic school in addition to the ticket penalty itself, so I am not supposed to pay any additional fee to take traffic school courses online which I found online traffic schools seem to require me to pay 25 dollars to register

The court website shows my new appearance in TSR date has already passed that was in early december. and I am not sure what TSR is.

what do I have to do? it seems like the deadline of my traffic school requirement has passed while I haven't received any information about that from the court.
Please advise me. Thanks

Is it not time to consider banning the sale of alcohol to under 25's in Town & City centres, thereby allowing the Police to keep up with their other and more pressing duties.

The 24 hour idea has clearly not worked and this Government should repeal the Act.

I thought he had rabbies but it was drugs & I found them in his room. He lived with me 3 days until I became strange about the foam from his mouth and his anger. I called 911 thanks to the yahoo answer people. They took him to jail when he got home and he yelled at me "you will pay!!" Is there anything I can do to protect myself from this crazy man? I have a gun but I never shot it and dont know how to put bullets in it. Should I change the locks on my doors? i am really worried about this crazed man.

Not only do they save lives but put thier OWN lives on the line wich doctors DONT do. I think if we paid the police, fireman and other people that are out there saving lives as much as doctors there would be more people wanting to do the job and maybe even less crime

No one seems to know where I can go to get help. I keep getting numbers from EVERYONE which only lead to more numbers and so on. No attorney wants to take a case against a police officer and I was advised not to go public in my home town due to the fear of harassment if I do. I NEED SOME HELP NOW! Am I suppost to simply forget what has illegally been done to me because of fear and threats? Who takes these kind of cases? Does ANYONE know?

Yes, it's incredible, isn't it?
Most of the people that moan about the police are either people who have been caught doing something they shouldn't, or relatives and friends of people who have been caught.
Am I the only one that thinks the police do a fantastic job? Why should they have this bad image/reputation?

I live in Canada, Vancouver, B.C. and I was wondering when applying to become a police officer is there any lie detector test they put you through. I was told by someone this may be true but I don't believe it's true. He said they ask you personal questions about love life and family. Can anyone tell me is this true?

Do you ever encounter ethical issues like the kind that we see on police TV shows, or are the criminals pretty clear-cut bad guys?

Example of an ethical issue:
A kid really doesn't like his parents. They fight all the time, and he is pretty scared of them, but they are not criminals. His grandmother takes him with his permission but not the parents' permission, and they run away. Both the grandmother and kid are much happier away from the parents.

P.S. What would you do in the above situation?

Taken from a letter of a victim of sexual abuse:

Let me say first that I am a victim of rape. I fully support a registry of sex offenders that protects me and others from this evil act of control. I have found, however, that the registry is cluttered with names of persons who are not rapists, but are labeled as such because they had a a lapse in judgement. One example in particular is that of a man seduced by a fourteen year old girl who obviously was lacking in parental guidance. Did he commit a crime? Yes he did. Is he remorseful? Yes, he suffers with his guilt every day. Is he a Rapist? HELL NO!!!!! He may have shown poor judgement, but she played her part too, and so did her parents. How fair is it to me, a victim of forcible rape, that when I look to see what sex offenders may live close to me and my family, that I see names like this posted there? This undermines what happened to me, and makes a mockery of my suffering.

Okay, so my mom took my little sister and I and we fled from our abusive dad. He had everything in his name, so he could have filed everything stolen if he had wanted to, now we are back in, after a very short amount of time, and mom moved back in before I did. Every Sat. night I drive him home 1.5 hrs. from his favorite bar despite conditions of weather, him, etc. Is this child endangerment?? If it is and we file on him, could he still charge us with a 'runaway' case and 'theft'? If so, how long could he put away for...and us?? Let me also add he has been emotionally abusive for nearly fourteen years.

I currently have a friend who has asked me this questions and am not sure to the answer.

A police officer called him and asked him if they could ask him a few questions without notifying him that the conversation was going to be recorded. The phone conversation is now being used against him as evidence in court.

Did the officer need to notify him that he was going to be recorded? If so, is there any Penal Code or legal type of documentation stating this?

I do know that the Miranda Rights did not apply since questioning was being done over the telephone.

I parked my car at the parking lot by the convince store and left for several ours. I don't recall whether I locked the car or not, but when I came back my window was opened, although I am pretty sure that I didn't open it.I inspected my and nothing seem to be missing. Right before I left the car, I remember there was another car occupied by two people parked next to me. I suspect them getting inside my car. Should I report it?
