One time I was pulled over for no apearant reason, it was 2:00am I had been drinking but was driving fine, in fact my friend that was with me, who doesn't drink, let me drive because he didn't think anything was wrong with me. I was pulled over by a state trooper and arrested for DUIL. When I went to court the officer took the stand and stated that he pulled me over because I crossed the center line 3x and the fog line once. What he didn't know was that my lawyer had supenaed the police car video. The video showed me passing the trooper in the oppisite direction, him doing a U turn and following me for several miles without me crossing over anything. This guy was caught in a flat out lie. The Judge's comments were "you can't go around pulling over people for swerving within their own lane otherwise people would have to drive perfectly straight and that's nor concieveable. However being that it was 2:00am, I think the officer was justified by doing so. Do you have similar story?

I don't understand why these otherwise excellent handguns come with magazine disconnect safeties. For me it makes me not want to purchase the firearm because you can't fire a round in the chamber if you have to when doing a tactical reload.

Examples: the Walter P99 & FN Five-seveN

The argument that the gun will not function if it is taken away from you does not make any sense to me at all.
If I wanted the gun not to fire without the magazine, I would fire one shot to empty the round in the chamber. If someone is attempting to take the firearm away from me at that moment, they would either get shot, the slide would bite their hand, or I might get shot myself.

But that wouldn't really matter, because if someone is capable of overpowering you and taking your firearm away, they will either pick up the magazine or they will be able to hit you on the head with the gun and then take away the magazine anyways.

Also, is it possible to disable these magazine disconnect safeties? And

I got a parking ticket the other morning at 5am for parking on the wrong side of the street during alternate parking season. My city has alternate side parking between 1 and 6am during winter to aid in snow removal. The reason I want to contest the ticket is that the street i parked on is less than a block long with NO building so it is impossible to tell which side of the street is ODD or EVEN. (you park on the odd side on odd days and even on even days). The ticket is only 20$, but I am really annoyed and I do not believe this ticket is valid. Should I contest the ticket or just shut up?

I have always wondered this, but when you are at sea, or on a cruise ship, what laws exactly do you need to follow? Is it the countries laws that the ship is sailing under, and if it's the United States is the the state laws as well as the federal laws, or how exactly does it work? If somebody commits a crime, say muder, rape, theft or anything for that mater, who tries the criminal? I don't understand that.

He needs help. He is self destructing and I want to help him. When we got engaged he was doing great - really cut down on weed and drinking. Then, he rented a house next door to a family he knows. They are heavy drinkers and potheads. Now, he spends every free waking moment next door and is ignoring HIS house and won't spend any time with me because 'I am no fun' to be with because I don't drink or smoke weed. Even the other neighbors noticed that he is never home! He is going down hill and I can't stand watching him self destruct. Should I call the police anonymously? What would happen if I did call the police? anything or just a fine? Can I legally put him in rehab against his will? (we aren't married - just engaged.) If I can't help him, I am ending this relationship because it's not what I want in life. It's just sad that he is going down this path and ignoring me (the person he said he 'loved').

Diderot said this a few years ago and I am just repeating it. What do you think?

I think it's ok so long as it isn't to save your own tail, when you are also looking at a sentence. And if by informing them, it stops a behavoir that is potentially very harmful for others.

Examples would include turning in a hardcore drug dealer, someone who has hurt someone or murdered.

But I think most other crimes I could turn a blind eye to as long as they don't hurt anyone I love. But on a case by case basis.

Your thoughts please?

I’ve written a novel and need some info on arrest procedure. The fictional town is a college town in Western Maryland and the college has around three, four thousand people, the town proper maybe another two or three thousand. The sticks. The man is arrested for a fight in which it appears that he was trying to throw someone out a three-story window. He is caught in the act and hauled away by police.

Would he be advised his Miranda rights there and then, after he was dragged off the victim; would they cuff him right there?

Like 4 of them and they stayed there for hours. The ambulance and fire truck were sent away only minutes after arriving. Everyone cried. This is so weird. I could see the whole thing through my window. She was a young mom and I just saw her the day before she died. I don't want to ask people picking up her stuff now what was going on.

What do you think of all us girls who go and visit our boyfriends every weekend, go hire lawyers and run ourselves ragged, go into debt, etc to help get the person we love out of the system?

Is it pathetic? Sometimes I feel like I've turned into a really pathetic woman... but then other times I think no one understands or knows his heart the way I do.

If you had a daughter in this type of situation what would you advise her to do?

Are we all just idiots with low self esteem - if so how do we get help?

Please no mean answers, this is really serious to me and I do really need ideas so I can help myself.

I am a 55 yr. old female, who invited a friend of my husbands (who passed away in Jan) to share my home. The reason was strictly financial. He had lived with me approx. 5 mo. when he lost his job. After that I started noticing that he was acting differently...coming in at all hr., always " busy" doing odd things, up all night, not eating, etc. He then got in trouble with the police for shoplifting, resulting in a warrant for his arrest. The police came and picked him up at my home & for whatever crazy reason, he thought I turned him in! (I didn't)!! I found out a day later that he was doing meth. Because he thought I called the police, he told them that I was selling drugs!! While he was in jail, I was going to the store on my bike & I got pulled over! The police said that they were raiding my home & gave me a search warrant. I had $900 in my pocket,$ that I received from my ins. co. for hail damage. They found nothing in my home. I wasnt charged but they kept my $. Can they do this?

I have a few questions.

1. If I am walking down a street, and a police officer stops and asks to see an I.D., am I required to show him one?

2. When are police officers allowed to search my car without my consent?

3. When are police officers allowed to enter my house and search it without a warrant or without my consent?

4. When are police officers allowed to pat me down?

5. Do we have the right to videotape police officers?

Remember, this is regarding the state laws of California.

Thanks in advance.

After playing a few games of beerpong I bet on a few games of pool. When i left the party 3 black males and a white male followed to my car where they grabbed me and punched in the face several times. They stole $580 cash and my cell phone jumped in a car and left. I then was threatened by more people at the party so I got in my car and drove to the nearest phone. Upon the cops arrival they spent 10 min looking at my cuts and asking what happen then proceeded to ask me if I was drinking. After responding yes and being underage they gave me a sobriety test and arrested and charged me with DUI. I was able to identify one of the men who assaulted me and charges are suppose to be filed but I am lost as to what I should do and feel depressed, disrespected, and an overwhelming feeling of lost hope....Please give me advice or a direction to take.....thank you
