I want to be a cop, and I have a clean background except for one thing. Three years ago I made a poor choice and paid a dancer at a strip club for sex, and I have regreted it ever since. Will this come up on the polygraph, and will I be automatically disqualified?

A neighborhood teenager and his friend came into my home and stole my son's computer while I was at work. I confronted him about it and he said, "I think my friend may have it, but I don't." The two of them were together when it was taken. I asked for his friend's last name, address, and phone number. He claims not to know any of this. I sent the police to talk to him and he told them he doesn't know anything about it. The police aren't helping at all. What would you do if this happened to you?

I was driving toward the top of a hill, as I drove over the peak of the hill a truck pulled in front of me on a snow covered, and untreated road, I started to brake and lost traction.
I ended up wrecking my friends mothers truck into the back end of the truck in front of me. The vehicle I was driving (aka "my truck") has extensive front end damage, hood bent into a A shape, passenger side fender rubbing the tire, radiator leaking like a wailing baby, sorta' like me at this point.
The guy I hit, 1ft width, 2 inch deep dent in his bumper... no other damage. The cop comes to the scene shakes the hands and greets the driver, by name they chat. Officer takes all involved information and proceeds to chat with his buddies I hit. Shortly after, the guy I hit drives off, soon after, I'm handed a ticket for "speeds to fast for conditions"

I'd like to point out the officer did not take any statement from me, and I was given no chance to talk with him about the ticket.

i was initially charged with DWI (in texas) but prosecuters dropped the charges and we settled with an obstruction of passage way charge. i was given 12 months deferred adjudicated probation which started last May. i have been good so far and no problems....but today I was pulled over by a local constable and given a speeding ticket (50 in a 40). from a PRACTICAL perspective is this enough to get my probation revoked? i know that probably techincally its a crime but i am thinking that this might be a minor deal...and do i tell my probation officer? she has a pretty volatile personality.

This man is claiming to be the prince of Liberia. He is trying to get us to accept packages from his country. He is trying to get us to put $77 million into our bank account. I don't feel comfortable at my home, he said he has our address and obviously has our phone number and our e-mail. He even demanded my husband's work phone number when I answered the phone unknowingly earlier. I didn't give him the number, but his e-mail said he already has our address courtesy of the 'Records of Ghana.' How the hell did this happen and what should I do? The police took the printed e-mails and they also turned everything in to the FBI. I am still scared to death. I've never given out personal information like my address, and this man somehow got it. I am afraid for the safety of my family. I am hanging up when he calls and my doors and windows are locked. I just don't feel this is enough.

I got an anonymous phone call that my 21 y/o son wanted to borrow $50 to buy a "half pound" that he could "push".

I know I'm going to sound very naive here but that's okay because I am. I think they are talking marijuana. Right away I don't know nothing about any street drugs. 47 years old and never touched a thing that wasn't prescription in my name.

How much does a half pound cost on the street if you are buying to sell? If he's $50 short, how much does he have? Is the price of this junk that steady nationwide?

I have to find a way to help him. He has been dabbling since he was 14, has tried crack and heroin but seems to prefer weed. Can't find a job and has been caught 3 times driving on a suspended license. Has cost me close to $20,000 over the last 3 years.

If a person wanted to commit suicide, but wanted to make sure that their children were left to their spouse as well as any property etc., how long would they have to wait after signing a will etc.?

What I mean is, if someone committed suicide and they left behind a will, would the court find it invalid because they weren't in their right mind?

you are a female all alone? This man looked very suspicious like on a mission. He had a serious look on his face and he was talking on the phone as he walked away. Could he be undercover detective or something?

His car was a light blue and his windows were limo tent. I didn't get the license plate because it was too far but I'm sure it was local from the colors.

I am very scared he'll come back.... I have membership to all kinds of bizarre websites.... do you think those people stock for their victims? I'm scared..

You hear it all the time "Identity Theft". If you see someone digging in dumpsters, especially the big ones apartment units have and you know it's not anyone live there would you report it to the police? Or better, should you?
I have notice it for the second time now and don't know how to aproach it. I shred my personal papers and dispose them some where else.

Whether it be a pocket-knife, pepper spray or even a gun in your car or on you...how many people carry weapons for personal protection on a daily basis? I carry a knife on me all the time, not so much for protection, but I guess it could serve the purpose...and also a gun in my truck...anybody else do the same/something different?

I was just wondering because many of my friends have 2 or more dwi's and can not drive drunk that often when we go out anymore. Because I haven't gotten any, I usually have to drive. I need some pointers so that I do not do any of these signs so that the cops won't pull me over.

i was in a car accident where the person swerved into my driveway and hit my truck, my truck then hit a grabage can and now there is damage on both sides of the back end of my truck, i donot carry insurance on my truck because i don't drive it, cause it is too expensive to drive so I drive my smaller car. there is no insurance on my truck and the other person had no insurance either. I have a police report with an eye witness and the person who hit me admitted to being at fault also, plus she got the ticket. There is more than $3,000 worth or damage done to my truck, how do I go about getting them to pay for the damages. I can't go to small claims cause the amount exceeds the limit.

I have seen a couple questions about what to do if you're not sure it is actually a cop trying to pull you over. The advice that has been given has all made sense ie. letting the person know you are aware of their presence, putting on flashers, driving to a populated area, etc. How would this play out in a rural area where it could easily be 10, 20, or 30+ miles to a populated area? Surely even the most reasonable cop is going to get frustrated playing follow the leader for an extended period of time. Would you, as an officer, remain calm knowing that the driver was just heading for safety, or would there be a time/distance limit to your courtesy? Thanks.
