I want to be a cop, and I have a clean background except for one thing. Three years ago I made a poor choice and paid a dancer at a strip club for sex, and I have regreted it ever since. Will this come up on the polygraph, and will I be automatically disqualified?

Normally, misdemeanors will not disqualify you. However, crimes agains morality could be an issue.

It will come up on the polygraph, and may disqualify you depending on the agency. Call and talk to a recruiter, it's the only way to know for sure.

Anything and everything will or can come up. Naturally honesty NOW is what they are looking for when anything comes up and NO you will not be automatically DQ'ed.

Something as minor as paying a stripper at a titty,(excuse me) bar will most likely be overlooked. Because honestly that is all they will see it as.

You i can see feel it was the wrong thing and they will see that and sense that and know. I mean as i said that is just a minor offense.

Good Luck out there! I hope we never meet.

Crimnal record, mental instability, certain physical limitations, and bad credit, are the most common reasons.
