In my state, Colorado, typically offenders arrested for DV cannot bond out until they have seen a judge.

At that point the judge will determine if there is a bond and bail conditions. Typically the offender sees the judge next business day after the arrest.

When I was working (in California) there were no mandatory holds for DV arrests. There was usually a temporary restraining order in place when the suspect went to jail, but if they can make bail, then they were released.....though I never heard of anyone bonding out in under 4 hours.......more like 8-12 unless it was a busy night or a weekend, then it could be longer. Also would be mandatory 12-24 hours if they had been drinking or were under the influence of drugs. Now that may have been a local County Jail policy, I don't know, but that is how it was there.

DEPENDING UPON STATE?
MOST STATES FOLLOW THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LAWS OF BOTH PARTIES ARRESTED AND LET THE JUDGE SORT IT OUT.
IF PARTIES ARE KNOWN AS PROMINENT FIGURES THEN THEY MAY RELEASE ON A PR BOND. USUALLY IN 24 HRS EXCLUSIVE OF HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS.
WASHINGTON STATE HAS AN ALL NIGHT COURT JUDGE TO HEAR A CASE WITH IN 12 HOURS OF BOOKING.

They must appear before a District judge. So if they are arrested on a Friday then they will be held at least until Monday morning.

Depends on the state. We don't have such a requirement however we have protective orders issued along with the warrant that are in affect for seventy two hours.

They are usually held until they get the opportunity to see a Judge.
