I snuck into an empty house to steal some stuff (Don't judge me) and while I was there the owners were coming back in and I hid in the closet, while looking out from the closet the mother who looked young proboably 19 or so was with her son a 3 year old, her son wet himself and she got mad and hit him across the face very hard, he was crying alot and his face was all red, she then went upstairs and the kid was just sitting on the floor crying, I felt very bad for him, after like 15 minutes of so he went upstairs then I got out of the house, Should I call the police? I am afraid that if I call then I would get arrested, what should I do?

is it possible for the police to put a warrant out for your arrest and not tell you that you have a warrant out for you, or wait a few days before telling you?

My exboyfriend who spit on me is calling and saying he wants to "settle" the criminal assault charge with me out of court by paying me money to "drop the charges."

The lady in the prosecutor's office says he can't do that.

He says in our state, there is a rule that says you can make the victim whole by paying them money.

I don't want his money.

Is it legal for him to call and say he would pay me money to drop the charge??

I am not taking him up on it but saved the messages he said this on.

Thousands rally in La. to support Jena 6 By MARY FOSTER, Associated Press Writer
25 minutes ago

JENA, La. - Thousands of chanting demonstrators filled the streets of this little Louisiana town Thursday in support of six black teenagers initially charged with attempted murder in the beating of a white classmate.

The crowd broke into chants of "Free the Jena Six" as the Rev. Al Sharpton arrived at the local courthouse with family members of the jailed teens.
Martin Luther King III, son of the slain civil rights leader, said the scene was reminiscent of earlier civil rights struggles. He said punishment of some sort may be in order for the six defendants, but "the justice system isn't applied the same to all crimes and all people."

The six teens were charged shortly after the local prosecutor declined to charge three white teens who hung nooses in a tree on their high school grounds. Five of the black teens were initially charged with attempted murder

I'm curious if anyone can provide a link to a formal police sort of "rule book", if you will, that we can check to see if the cops involved in this incident were just following their training or were out of line. (i think they were probably out of line, but I want to know if there's an official source (not just ppls opinion) that says what police officers "should" do in such a situation.)

If you are a cop, please feel free to answer to.

Thanks everyone!!!

At approx a little after midnight on Sept 17th I was pulled over for driving 57 miles an hour in a 35 mile an hour construction zone. The police officer claimed he caught me on a gun as I was merging with other cars from 2 lanes. However, I tried to explain that 1. I sped up to safely merge by getting ahead of another car. 2. In addition it was a Nassua county police officer who pulled me over. The place he pulled me over was just past the "suffolk" county sign on the highway. So I believe I was in Suffolk county.
I have a very good driving record. This is my first offense. I have a court date for this in 5 weeks. I am going to plea not guilty. Do I have a case? What are my options to minimize the negative impact of this incident on my driving record and my insurance? Thanks for your advise in advance.

Now they use it on an autistic CHILD???

Gee, Mengele would be so proud.

I think it's time that police were given more training in the proper use of this potentially lethal weapon.

cops have very little choices in what they can and can't do and tazering someone to make them stay still is better than most other ways of dealing with violent offenders. i support the cops in this. thanks guys for doing a thankless job. god bless you.

Wheelchair-Bound Woman Dies After Being Shocked With Taser 10 Times
http://news.yahoo.com/s/wkmg/20070919/lo_wkmg/14147512

A Clay County, Florida woman's family said it's seeking justice after their loved one died shortly after being shocked 10 times with Taser guns during a confrontation with police. The family of 56-year-old Emily Delafield said it would take the Green Cove Springs Police Department to court, according to a WJXT-TV report. Note: This kind of thing is happening too much, especially when it is obvious the perpetrator is handicapped. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

what will it take for Americans to put the criminal justice system back on track with what the American people want for police protection in the USA? It seems that if cops can't physically "control" a citizen they will just pull out their tasers and shock them. Why is that? What about a 6 year old girl that was tasered several times by school peace officers in order to "bring her under control"? Isn't about time that Americans redefine what criminal behavior is and what can and cannot be done to subdue someone - and in the case of a college student who recently was tasered when he was simply carrying out his right to question his representatives and/or candidates - a US Constitutionally guaranteed right? When will the criminal justice system be fixed and bad cops removed from the various police agencies within our government (local, state, and federal levels)? Let's not just point a finger at cops - let's point the finger at ALL criminal justice actors. Just WHO are they protecting?

my friend lost his trial by declaration in california, but was never told he couldnt take ttraffic school in that response, but he then asked for a plea, and got a court arrangement after he got his result of losing by trial by delaration, and he went to court to ask for traffic school, and they still gave it to him, I have heard of this before, why did the judge still give him traffic school? My friend told the judge the truth though, that he had no idea that by doing the trial by declaration and losing, he wouldnt have a choice of traffic school, why have people gotten traffic school afterwards, but it is only fair to be given it when not advised about it right?

I'm going to be honest, I'm in the fetish community and am seeking out where to buy REAL cop handcuffs if possible. I don't want plain cuffs that you would find in your average bondage shop but real police issued handcuffs. Is there any way to get them from a store or something like that instead of "knowing a police officer" and getting it from them that way?

Monday night, I was involved in an accident on a Texas highway. I had pulled into the center lane and was yielding to the opposite lane of traffic to turn around and head southbound after I was traveling northbound. I drive, or did drive, a Ford F-150. A four door sedan hit me at approximately 55 mph in the turn lane, where I was quartered away, striking near the gas filler cap and leaving a huge dent that pushed the bed panel to the leaf springs, and I can't open the SuperCab door and the driver door won't completely close. State Troopers and a county sheriff's deputy arrived later, and never asked my side of the story. When asked to take a look at me, they shined a flashlight in my eyes and asked if I was on drugs or intoxicated, and walked off. Later, it was found I suffered a concussion. They then wrote me a citation for expired registration and said it was my fault before leaving. What should I do, because I plan on contesting this.
