The past 2 nights I have received multiple harrassing phone calls on my cell phone at around 1-3 in the morning. They are from an area code about 800 miles away, but the guy who calls mentions a local bar and asks for "Amy." I keep telling him he has the wrong number and asking what number he is trying to dial, but he won't tell me and keeps asking what my name is (I won't tell him but I do say I am not Amy).

His voice is not familiar and I don't have anyone who has grudges against me (that I know of). I think he is just drunk and screwing around, but he called multiple times both nights. I had my first and last name (uncommon last name) on my outgoing voicemail message and I took it down with a message just saying my phone number, but now I am concerned that he has my name and phone number and seems to be stalking me.

Should I be worried if he calls again tonight or do you think he is just some idiot with nothing else to do? What should I do?

I need to go to a hearing for a traffic ticket (posted speed limit differs from what the officer wrote the ticket for). I've already had to change my schedule for one continuace requested by the officer, which wasn't a problem because it was done well in advance. Now only 3 days before the hearing, the judge has issued a continuance for himself, to move the trial back only two days. I was told if that was needed, to have the request for continuance done at least two weeks in advance. I'm not sure if I can rework my schedule now, but if I ask for a continuance by certified letter (recommended to me), it'll probably never get there in time to notify all parties. What should I do? Can I have the case thrown out?

thur nite my little sister snuck out in the middle of the night fri AM we got a call from the police (shes only 14) apparently they found her passed out in a park, they drug tested her and it was positive for marijuana. weve never had any kind of problem like this from her she doesnt have a record shes an honor student an overall decent kid. on top of that she stole a bottle of wine from r house. the police didnt press any charges and she admitted the wine was stolen and that she had snuck out with some friends. the thing is the police called social services who r making her go to drug and alcohol counseling (which im not saying is bad mayb itll scare her into making this an isolated incident). but we have heard horror stories about social services. is this the type of case that stays open until the child is 18? will she b placed in a foster home or detention center? what should we expect?

my friend egged a cop car by mistake and the car didnt see us at first but i think it did catch him but it might not have cuz it was still patrolling around looking for us(and it saw us, but hid somewhere) but there shouldnt be a reason for it to look if it already caught the culprit; not if he rats out on us which he's not the such guy but u dont know.....how long do I have until the cops come and question me? BTW, i didnt hit the car or the house; we're 16-17 in toronto.

I the police obtain a search warrant to search your house, can they be held liable for any damage they may cause to the property or items inside the property? Lets say they ruin your Van Gogh, break some antique vases, tear out your carpets, and put a few wholes in the drywall will they have to pay for the damages if nothing sinister is found (you get ruled out as a suspect).

Is this customary in California to let people choose when they go to jail? Maybe its just my state (Michigan) but whenever someone is sentenced to jail they have to go immediately. They don't get 2 months notice before they go. Is this just a California thing? I'm curious to know.

kissed her and touched her breasts and tried to put his hand up her skirt.

the mother is inlove with this man and so is her daughter. she is allowing this man to still come around her daughter as long as there is adult supervision.

I told her that if i see him around her daughter again i will personally call the cops.

my question is.........if i call the cops and they deny it ever happened, would he still get arrested. i have children that can verify it happened too.

We have a neighbor who has a driveway that can fit two of his cars in it plus one on the street in front of their house... but he has 3 cars, plus his gf's and his mom's that live their.. well, he has recently been taking up MY parking spot that I have to park in often, plus another one on the road outside of our house.. So he has all of his parking taken up plus all of our street parking taken up.. One of his cars parked in front of our house has a tire taken off and the other doesn't ever go anywhere.. So do we have the right to call the police? Or is it public parking basically?

This one guy started a fight with my stepbrother, they fought, and then later that guy called the cops and had my stepbrother arrested, and to top it all off this is the same guy that is sleeping around with my stepbrother's wife. Shouldn't the other guy be in jail since he started the fight. I know, my stepbrother should have called the cops after the other guy punched him, but instead he fought back, and now he's in prison. It seems my stepbrother is getting the wrong end of the stick.
