I'd TP it (toliet paper their trees, etc)...unless their parents are really jerks, you won't get in trouble...the worst thing could either be trespassing, damage to property or littering...

Well, first of all, both egging And shaving cream (or TPing) are illegal. They are misdemeanors. However, Criminal michief and Vandalism are two totally different things: egging is a much more serious offense. Therefore, if you have decided not to press charges, then you've got nothing to lose in seeking revenge, because they certainly won't press charges against YOU.(If they did, you could counter sue them and win for sure.)
That said, I would advise not stopping at "shaving cream". Wrap their house with TP, fork them, seran wrap their cars, write on the car and house windows with window chalk, throw stink bombs in their mailbox (if you reeally want revenge) and whatever else you can think of. Payback is always double!

Yes, and do not think because you did not press charges that they will go easy on you.
"Getting back at" is not a very mature characteristic. Either press charges or in the case of your friend filing a law suit to recover cost of damages might be a good idea. But in order to have the best civil case it wise to press charges and get a conviction.

IT'S NOT ILLEGAL IN THE VANDALISM SENSE BECAUSE THE SHAVING CREAM CAN WASH OFF AND NO DAMAGE IS LEFT BEHIND, BUT IF CAUGHT IN THE ACT, A TRESPASSING VIOLATION WOULD BE IN EFFECT. PROBABLY OTHER THINGS TOO, SUCH AS CRIMINAL MISCHIEF....ONE OF THOSE LAWS YOU ONLY HERE ABOUT AFTER THE FACT.
YOU CAN'T "COUNTER SUE" IN A VANDALISM CASE....YOU HAVE TO PROVE DAMAGES WERE DONE AND THE AMOUNT IT WAS. IT SOUNDS LIKE NO DAMAGE WAS DONE IN THE EGGING INCIDENT, THUS NO VANDALISM. AND IF YOU GET CAUGHT IN THE ACT, A SIMPLE "THEY DID IT FIRST" ISN'T GOING TO KEEP YOU FROM BEING ARRESTED.

Eggs are really illegal. In our State, a person can be fined $100.00 per egg, if caught. You could be charged with trespassing and if they have a camera overlooking their property, you will be caught. Speak to your parents and ask them how you can handle this. I would not go onto their property as it will cause a continual resentment. And you can be charged with a misdemeanor and be placed on Juvenile Probation. Just try to forget it and go on.

Depending on your local laws you could be charged with trespassing, littering, disorderly conduct, and harrassment. You could also be found liable in civil court for any damages you may cause (remember all it takes is that shaving cream to burn some grass and you'll be paying for landscaping!!!)

Yes, and the courts have ruled that the damage does not have to be permanent to be a vandalism.
