I received a red light camera ticket at Washington and Helms, in Culver City. Its another one of those revenue producers for Culver City, as there is no justification for a camera at that intersection which probably has very few accidents. I was doing 36 miles per hour, not speeding and not attempting to beat any light. The ticket shows I only missed it by 0.12 of a second, in other words around one-tenth of a second. I don't believe a police officer in person would ever have issued a ticket. Is it worth fighting this ticket? Does anyone have experience with this, especially in Culver City? Is it worth buying a book I saw online to fight the ticket? I believe Culver City has one of the greediest policies in the country for bilking its citizens, and espcecially those just passing through. Its a small city with about twenty cameras, and they write parking tickets like you wouldn't believe. What is the best way to fight the ticket, go to court or by mail?

I have recently found that there is a warrant for my arrest. It is something that happened two years ago, that I thougt was resolved. Well because me not knowing a civil and criminal case was totally different, I thought my nightmare was over when the civil case had been dismissed.

I have found in this mess, that the law seems to only apply to those of significant wealth and not of people who REALLY are innocent. I have since hired an attorney, which I will go into station and face whatever it is...

At the same time, I a mother of kids and I work a job who is being bought by another company. That company will be doing a background search. I was told that arrest may show up but they can not disclose it. That they can only disclose convictions. I was thinking of taking a leave of absence to avoid it until it is cleared up. YOu see if I loose my job, I loose the only way I take of my kids.

I would appreciate any real assistance from anyone on this matter.

I was involved in unfortunate fatality accident last week. I have posted questions regarding other issues surrounding this if you would like to read them. The other person's insurance company has accepted 100% liability & the police report was ready last Thursday showing the excessive speeds of the other driver. When I talked with the insurance company last week , they gave me a rental car for 70 days & asked me if my vehicle was released from the wrecker service. She said I needed to find out if it was & get my personal belongings out so they can have it towed to their salvage yard because it was totalled. The wrecker service told me that the insurance company would have to release it but the insurance company said the police would have to. I have called back several times & today the wrecker service told me to call the officer that made the report. I left him a message but in the mean time, has this every happened to anyone and why is it taking so long to have it released? Thanks

I have these neighbors right across the street from me, they continually drink and deal drugs right in their front yard. The cops are called over & over and nothing is ever done about them. They are becoming more violent towards each other & my family, my kids can’t even go outside with out them threatening my children, my kids are 12 & 6 and when my oldest goes to the mail box they call her a whore and tell her “you better get your B*tch As* back in your house.” When we open up the windows to get some fresh air they start screaming at us. We’ve called the cops, they come and then nothing. We can’t join the neighborhood watch because they’ve already threatened us so many times we’re afraid that they’ll shoot us. We can’t even go outside without them constantly yelling and cussing at us (they know we’re the ones who keep calling the cops and that makes them angrier) What can I do when the Cops won’t do anything? I’m not even allowed to video tape them because it invades their rights.

I'll never understand, with all the problems American society faces, cops radar traffic. C'mon, who are you protecting? People flash lights to oncoming traffic to warn that you're there so other drivers can slow down until they pass you, so you aren't catching reckless drivers. Really, how can you feel good about yourself sitting in the median radaring people during rush hour as they try to get to work? I realize sitting in the comfort of your air conditioned car is more appealing than hitting the streets and doing some real work. I just have no idea how you face yourself everyday. You took a vow to protect people; instead, you sit there, spinelessly, with radar gun in hand, while crime goes on around you.

Bravo ....

I deal with this time and time again. I will stop someone for a violation and they are rude right off the bat. Why, would anyone in their right mind, believe they are going to get a break when they were just rude and vulgar to the officer? I'm sorry but when you are rude, you WILL get a citation/ticket for the violation. Not to mention, many people think that they deserve the break and only them. C'mon, being nice may get you a break. Officers have enough to worry about and don't need your attitude in the mix.

I recieved in the mail statements in a case against me.There is alot of things wrong with the statements made. The deputy said I destroyed evidence by burning it.Problem;another man admitted to burning the evidence. The voluntary statement written by the only witness to the alleged crime said the statement he wrote is not the one I have in my possession.Problem;he said things are missing or ommitted and he didn't do it.Also the items I was said to have stolen, another individual addmitted to stealing. The item in question was found and the sherriff's dept. knows where the items are at but refuse to go get the items. What can I do?Is there anyone I can call to investigate the deputy and the sherriff's dept? How do I get them to leave me alone?

If you carefully study the lyrics of many current songs, you can rather easily connect the dots to see GENOCIDE is being well planted into the psyche of Urban youth. All that will be needed is a trigger-sign, and the blazes and blades will flash, neighborhood by neighborhood. Swarming packs using cellphones and police scanners can do quite a number, and if careful enough, it can become a competition of bloodshed in real life, between rival national gangs.

Am I the only one who senses this formula in process?

An individual receives a traumatic brain injury, resulting in a neurological change in an attitude toward others. They are easy to anger and aggressive in response.

Do you treat this person as a victim of the injury, or as a potential long term aggressor from whom the public needs to be protected?

Just finished watching Teenagers and Alcohol on HBO. One of the recovering teens, a young man who was not drinking, but got a ride from a friend who had previously drank two beers, now has a severe problem with anger management. He was not drinking, or knew his friend had been, so this is not a case where he is suffering from his own stupidity.

Clearly, their fingerprints are still on the gun! I mean, it looks really cool when they do it, but isn't it just plain dumb? Wouldn't they want to get rid of the evidence instead of advertise it?

A few weeks ago a customer "bought" about $121 worth of stuff. Just when he was about to pay he grabbed the bag, yelled "Don't call the cops" and sped off. We chased after him and got his license plate but it was 11:30 at night. We got a full description of his and his girlfriend because talked to everyone in the store.
Last week the police called and said they ran the plate number and the person we described doesn't match the owner. and said that because it was dark a mistake might have been made like the 7 might have been a 1, the 8 might have been a 3 etc. We're sure the first 2 and the last 2 are correct. The police said that they will try other combinations.
Just how much longer is this case going to be open? I had already forgotten about this case when they called. As badly as I want this guy caught, the police have more important things to do.
