Our local county jail has a volunteer Chaplain who spends greater than 40 hours a week ministering to 160 prisoners. He eats free meals while there but is not compensated any other way. Would someone offer ideas as to how he may get some pay. Chaplains typically make an anual salary of $40K. The county has no funding available for a chaplain but everyone readily admits the jail must have one.

They didnt look at the video from the store where the card was used yet and obviously I'm not on it but can i still get in trouble? I've never even been to that town and i didnt do anything that day except go home and watch TV my BF was at work and i had the day off. I have been lied to the police before and i got in .....

Recently, a California website ran an e-mail forum (a question
and answer exchange) where the topic was "Policing the Community.
"One of the civilian email participants posed the following question:

*"I would like to know how it is possible for police officers
to continually harass people and get away with it?"*

It is not easy. In California we average one cop for every
2,000 people.

About 60% of those cops are on patrol, where we do most of the
harassing.

One-fifth of that 60% are on duty at any given moment and are
available for harassing people. So, one cop is responsible for harassing
about 10,000 residents. When you toss in the commercial, business and
tourist locations that attract people from other areas, sometimes you have a
situation where a single cop is responsible for harassing 20,000 or more
people each day.

This question stems from my realisation that television stations continually show gun-related violent movies that leave permanent impressions on the minds of our youths and other adults as if gun crimes are the best thing to any life.

My teenage sons abandoned by mother, who paid no child support, nor provided life sustaining medicine, though it was all reimbursable in her health plan, threatened and brought police, lied under oath to the court, perpetrated family violence observed by the children from the age of eight and ten, filed a law suit wanting custody. They are now 171/2 and 151/2. The court used the police force to remove the 151/2 year old, despite 18 months of superior school, community, disciplined, respectable behavior. The 151/2 year old was then slapped, scratched by mother while she was driving, almost causing two accidents as reported by him. When he went to report the abuse, he was told it was discipline. From the police station he was handed over to mother. The court split the brothers after 18 months of mother's abandonment. Both are close to each other. Both are of superior intelligence, high achievers. Three attorneys, and $40k in debt My son and I cried all day. My pay is1/2 of hers.

Do you think it is ethcial for Policing Agencies (local Police, FBI, DEA, etc..) to have the ability to use deception in order to gain confessions or evidence from suspects? What I mean is, do you think it is ok for Police to tell a suspect they have evidence when they really don't? Or, how about telling one of two suspects their buddy just rolled over on him and need to get his side and not take the whole punishment for the crime when they don't have such a statement. Would you consider it a tool to help solve crime?

Is using deception in Law Enforcment justifiable or not....Please explain why or why not.

If a judge, prosecutor, or magistrate asks you a question in court, are you required legally to answer it?
I understand that if you lie, then this would be perjury.

And if it is illegal to say nothing, what are the penalties of so doing?

I read is a police science book that really a 9mm bullet is a "weak" round and that's what most cops on the street seem to use now in their Glock. Police officers used to use the old .38 which must be a more powerful round with more stopping power. In the book, they showed a suspect that had been shot up to and hit 9 times with a 9mm and the dude was still standing. They obviously didn't hit the heart or brain, just basically flesh wounds and the suspect survived. I think if I was a cop, i would want a firearm that would bring down a suspect in one round like a .45 or a .44 magnum, however, I don't think cops are allowed to use these powerful guns, unless you are Dirty Harry of course. Also, can they use a .357 magnum or are those too powerful for the street as well. Myth or legend?

Also, I read that the .45 was invented around WWII because the rounds used back then didn't have stopping power agnist the Japanese getting shot but still moving.

I'm not saying is it normal or immoral, but is it actually illegal? I cannot lie, I am addicted to watching them all now. It's not that all that much exciting stuff goes on, but enough stuff that it's worth watching. This one real big lady had dropped her keys while she was trying to get up in her car. She had to get one leg in then reach around and pull the other one in, then push her breastes up in there. I have it on video. Sometimes I can see them eating, and I just wish I could hear into their house better. But is all that illegal?
