also because it's to protect children from rape
your parents are still reliable and responsible of you

Short answer, minors aren't old enough or mature enough to have sex. It's legislating morality and while I agree with the intent (ideally you should wait until you're married, but you should certainly wait until after high school) I can't in good conscience support these laws, they restrict personal freedom. If you want to have sex at 14 that's your red wagon, just be ready to deal with the reprecussions.
In theory these laws prevent 18 year old boys from seducing 14 year old girls into having sex with them, in practice it has 17 year old boys thrown in jail for consensual sex with a 15 year old girl.
