Does anyone know if the Sheriff's department requires women to do the full push-up or just the partial, in California.

I need this for a research paper, I am not trying to join the Sheriff's dept. I am only in High School.

I've tried googling the requirements for the physical ability tests but they all say the same thing. No mention of the different types of push-ups for men or women. I would suggest training yourself with the normal "man" push up and the "woman" push up, that way when it is time for you to test you can be prepared for both. In my opinion, I believe they would test everyone the same. Sorry I couldn't help you, but try calling your academy or a random one in California and speak to someone who could possibly answer your question and any others you might have... Good luck with your test!

Yeah. I would want MY backup to skate by with a lower standard of fitness based on gender...

I'd feel all good and politically correct while I'm getting my butt whipped by three or four guys because you can't help me...

Meet the full standard or find a new career.
