Okay. So I bought a steam iron (SUPER STEAM by Euro, made in italy) at a mall last year. I never needed the iron until today, so I used it. The iron got really hot, hot steams and water leaked and burnt my hand pretty bad. From what I remember, I paid $39.99 plus tax for this. I recently posted a question about this, and someone gave me a link to this site [http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/wirral/press%20-%20super%20steam%20iron.htm] which the UK government describes how the iron isn't safe and so we should immediately stop using it. (I'm in US by the way).

I finally found the original site for this iron [http://www.supersteamiron.com/index.html] and told them my issue through email, but I think they're not taking responsible for this malfunctioning iron because I'm not getting ANY replies at all. (((I'll notify you guys when I do)))

Being the typical poor college student I am, $39.99 is ALOT of money for me, and I'd hate to waste it... :(

What can I do? Please help, please?

I got a jury summons a couple months back and was supposed to go every monday in month of June. Well, I called and it was cancelled for that day that I called for. I've been looking for a place to move into and had a lot going on and it really just slipped my mind. My mom just emailed me and said I had been served with a summons for missing jury duty - does this mean i'm going to go to jail??? I live in the Northern VA area, and i searched online and it said i could be hit with a contempt of court charge. Has this happened to anyone before?? I'm only 19!!

Honestly, why not? They're breaking the law by coming here, and every document relating to international law ever written has affirmed the right of countries to enforce their laws if they don't violate international law. So, other than pure emotion, is there any logical reason not to secure the border?

Am I gotten a ticket by police officer if I gather Speed "38 or

39 miles" over on the road where the sign "speed limit

35miles" locates? What about in a school zone?

I mustn't exceed speed limit just a couple of miles anytime anywhere??????? or it is really ok?

Please some specialists answer my question....

in 6 categories, and got over 100 responses, many of them serious (either giving me advice or telling me not to do it). A little while before that, I asked in four categories how I could get more involved with organizations that help people in Africa. I got, maybe 10 responses that question. This website is pathetic.

Everyday I see something in the news pointing out a particular weakness in either American defenses or just how easy it is to sneak into or onto supposedly secure sites, Has freedom of the press has been taken a little too far, possibly to the point of treason?

Hey,

Soon, I'll be riding along with my local Military Police and I'm looking forward to it. However today, I got stopped by a rude police officer asking me to buckle up my helmet. I was on my way to the my local police detachment, ready to drop off my ride along form, and suddenly I see this rude cop come up to me and he tells me to buckle up my helmet. I was riding my bike and I wasn't traveling far.

I'm well aware that you should always buckle up your helmet while riding a bike. However the think that bothers me the most, is the way the officer spoke to me. He was rude and incompetent.

Funny thing is I'm planning on becoming a police officer after high school. I've got one year to go, and as much as I love the police, I just can't stand the fact that their will always be crooked, and rude cops out there......

What do you think of all of this? I just hope I won't ride along with this cop while I go for my ride along soon....

Regards

Jordan

To anyone who is affiliated with these two entities I was wondering if you could help me with some questions?

1) What is the current need for hiring new employees for both departments? Is it high or about average?

2) How long after the civil service exam can one expect to receive a canvass letter assuming they scored well on the test?

3) What is the average scores for the exam that State Police or University Police will consider for canvassing?

Thanks for your help guys.

Right, so i'll cut a long story short.

Was driving a friend home this afternoon, going along a fairly quiet road in which the speed limit was 30mph. I know this road very well and is quite plainly, straight, with set back house one side and open fields the other.

So i was doing around 40mph along this road, when from behind a silver astra pops out PC Plod with his radar/laser gun pointing at my car. By the time i had realised he was taking my speed, i had passed thus not being able to slow down in time.

Now my question is, can i be prosecuted? The thing is other cars coming the opposite way (the side of the copper) seemed to be getting waved to pull over if speeding, where as PC Plod just pointed the radar gun at me and gave me a wierd looks as i 'sped' by.

Now, i'm not saying i'm in the right and that he wasn't just doing his job, but can a i be prosicuted even though i wasn't pulled over... seeing as there was no camera to capture a picture of my car/registration?

Ok, lets say that you are having a party and the neighbors call the cops on you for being too loud or whatever. Well, when the cops come, you do not want to answer the door because everyone is underage. So, the question is, if they knock, can you just not answer the door? Just lock the doors and shut the blinds? Some people say they will bust the door down, but they cant do that without a warrant can they? What would you do in this situation?
