If they were found not guilty by the courts, then you are in good shape. That probably hasn't happened though. You'll generally get a shorter sentence if you plead guilty and agree to testify against the others, assuming one of them doesn't do this to you first.

If your not going to trial as a group.....your lawyers can make individual defenses for each of you. You would be better off going to court as a group with the same defense...

Say for instance..
There was no money on the table. The bets were only "play money". Most countries..cards is not illegal, just betting money is. Or if money was on the table, you were playing tournament style, and the money was only to be used in place of chips....everyone was to get their money back at the end of the game. If this stipulated fact is accepted by the court you can move for dismissal early on.

Hopefully the country in which you live, you are innocent until proven guilty...if so....
The prosecutor has to prove that money was being wagered.
Which isn't easy. However the more money was involved the easier it become because they can look at bank statements...etc.

"no contest" is an option. try workingout a plea agreement with the prosecutors. dont worry about ur gamblin friends, they were smart enough to get caught so surely theyll be smart enough to either get a not guilty or work out a plea agreement that they find acceptable
