I got arrested on suspicion of a crime and released. I was told they had no case against me.
When they were releasing me they didn't give me back the property that I had on me, which included my cash, credit cards, keys, cellphone. I was only given back my Drivers License.
I was told to contact the officer that arrested me and I did and he refused to give me back my things. It has been a 10 months and during this time I have contacted the Chief of Police, the captain who is the boss of that officer and the internal affairs and nothing has been done to get my property back.
The only thing I got was a file number for my things at the police property room. I contacted them and found out the police have given me someone elses number and also found out that the officer never turned in my property to the property room and is holding on to them.
Can he do that, because I had no weapons, or anything illegal on me, this is just some cash, credit cards, keys and a cellphone?
