If your vehicle is parked @ least 3 ft. from the walkway or public acces it is deemed as parked on private property and as long as the tires are up and the car will move whether by its own power or even pushing it, and it doesn't block a public access, the officer was wrong in issueing a citation. I would claim harassement, as this sounds like maybe a neighbor who doesn't like the fact that it's not registered and up to date. Are you having trouble with one of your neighbors??. I would also check to see what the county/city laws are locally.

Is this my father in law?? LOL. My father in law lives in Springboro and got a ticket last week for this exact reason because his truck doesn't run!
Answer? yes.... It's montgomery county! They'll ticket your vehicle if the tags are expired and can be viewed from a public street or road. Sucks!

It depends on city ordinances. I live in Norwood O. and cars parked visibly in a driveway must be licensed or kept inside of a garage. Yo need to check your local ordinances, Chances are a neighbor called and reported your vehicle

I would say not. But since they did , I would bet that there is a city ordinance saying any autos parked on your property have current tags . Alot of cities have this to keep junk cars from junking up the neighborhoods.

Are you paying insurance on it? Does it run? I think, typically, if you are going to the license place, they won't give you a ticket. They might escort you there though!
