There is inherent danger to being a cop. Just walking out in the street in uniform in any area makes you a visible target. What really is dangerous is that some cops truly believe that they can tell when a person is dangerous. Although some are obviously violent, some are calm and polite until they pull out a gun. The job is as dangerous as you let it be. As a instructor of officer safety and survival. most cops get injured from carelessness.

Yes and No. It depends on the situation you come across at the time. It may be a simple traffic stop, which isn't bad at all, give the citation and you are on your way. Or, you may come face to face with someone who is pointing a gun in your face or shooting at you. So, there are situations that are very dangerous for a police officer. If this is something you want to do later in life, you may want to ask yourself if you are up to the challenges that are out there (some life and death situations).

Well, you do have to be a "tough guy." I would not, however, use it as an excuse to learn the art of "bullying." Anyway, yeah, it's dangerous. Don't do it just because you like the uniform or the attention from the ladies, etc. That'll end you up on the wrong side of the tracks pretty fast.

Yes, but alot depends on weather you are city, state or whatever. Law enforcement is dangerous that's why they have weapons...................

Ya never know when some creep is gonna stick a pistol at you and pull the trigger.

Domestic violence calls can go from peaceful to calm in like one second.

You don't have time, often, to think and ponder what to do. Alot of split second decisions. Everyone looks to you to be calm and in control when everyone else around you is out of control.

But it does depend on location the amount of "fear" you will have in your work.
