Law Enforcement & Police - January 2007

This happened months ago but I'm still ticked off and wondering what happened. There were some women in there looking at watches under a glass case saying "I want a Seiko" very loudly. I was looking at the cheap $15 watches displayed on round racks. They kept staring at me. When I left, a city cop approached me and said some people said it looked like I took something. He asked why I looked nervous and I asked him wouldn't he be? But he was nice and searched my purse and let me go b/c it was obvious I was innocent.

I called the store the next day and they had no idea what had happened. They said they had not called the police. Then I started to wonder--woudln't they have confronted me themselves if they suspected me of stealing? Would I even have gotten to my car in the parking lot?

Was I, perhaps, a decoy for those women? Did they, in fact, steal a watch, then call the cops on ME to distract everyone while they got away? Who is responsible for what happened to me?

Just curious about what society believes on the death penalty. I think it is a little nerve wrecking to hear of murder, rape, and pedophiles just receiving a small penalty of prison time. Classic case is the Charles Manson case. He ordered his group, he called his "Family", to kill Sharon Tate who was eight and a half months pregnant. He was convicted for conspiring a murder. Should he be allowed to live for such a cruel murder of an innocent women with child. I don't think so. But yet he is still living, and he states if they ever let him out he would do it again. Another classic case, O.J. Simpson. Everyone knows he did it. He is even wrote a book that's main plot was "If I would have done it, here is how I would do it." That should give it away. Why are prisons full? Because no one is afraid of committing a crime. There is no fear of punishment. I'm just curious of what others think.Bring back severe death penalty and bring back the fear of punishment. Do you agree?

Hi,

When I watch cop shows, third watch, csi... when they enter a room with a disgusting smell, dead body for instance, they take something out and rub it under their nostrils.

Just wondering what it is.

Thanks

I am looking to apply for a carry permit in Florida but would like to know if there is a national permit where I can carry the gun just about anywheres in the U.S. If not, is there a carry permit higher (with more benefits) than just the regular one every Floridian gets in Florida? All answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I mean, if they're big and bad enough to do the crime, why do they hide like little babies when they get caught?

Hi. I received a ticket CA 22348b for going over 100mph. It appears that this necessitates a mandatory court appearance. I plan to utilize a lawyer, the question is do I still need to appear for the court hearing, or does the lawyer's presence suffice?

Also, what is the likelihood of the license being suspended for 30 days. I know this is an option the judge has. Anybody with insights is greatly appreciated.

I got an e-bay account a while back for no reason. I wasn't going to buy anything. But as a joke I made a bid. It wasn't real and I thought someone would bid above me. It was a low bid. Anyway, on January 21, I received a message from the person whose item I bidded on. They said they sent me the merchandise a while back and never got anything back from me. They said if I didn't respond in 12 hours they would report me to e-bay and the local authorities. Help! I didn't mean it!
I gave a fake address and name. I don't want to be arrested for something I didn't even mean!
Can they track me?
I'm only a teenager! I make mistakes! I act stupid!

I haven't used the e-bay account since I got it. Please help! Will they be able to find me?

One guy got hold of my girlfriend through on line dating service. He fooled her that he was in love with her, and was going to marry her. He promised to help her to invest with huge returns. She transfered $60K to him. After two years, he refuses to give back money. He said there is no way she can win even if she sues him. Fair enough, no lawyer is taking the case because it is less than $100k. She contacted all the leagl places even FBI. But after some investigation, there is nothing they can do either. What else can she do to get her money back? That is almost all her life saving. Please help!!
