I recently played guilty to a VC 12500 (a) charge and I am about to begin a naturalization process. Will this charge affect the outcome? Please advice. Thank you.

VC 12500(a) is a misdemeanor, however a first offense is often reduced to an infraction by the courts. Either way, it should not affect your naturalization.

It is an infraction and should not affect your immigration status.

ADD: James P is more right than I. This is what is called a "wobblette" in California. It can be filed as an infraction by the prosecutor or reduced to an infraction by the court. It is so seldom filed as a misdemeanor that I forgot it could be. If they did not tell you that you had the right to an attorney, then it was filed as an infraction. But either way, it should not affect your immigration status.
