I was told it is better to contest your traffic ticket by mail and not court that way they don't charge you court costs and you are more likely to win ,so first question who here had their case dropped and which method did you use?
My seconed question is if I send the ticket amount for $242.00 with the 3rd option of not guilty and marking the fourth option of trail by Written Declaration and they drop the ticket will they pay me back or do I wait and pay it?

Thank you for your time

Currently there is enough places in prisons and police cells to hold a total of about one eight of one percent of the population.

Does it seem right that only 1 out of about 800 people belong in jail?

I've never been to the academy, and I'm starting my police cadet position in 2 weeks. I'm 23 and I'm a very girlie femine girl.

I don't want to stand out (in a bad way) and have the other officers talk about me and say how un-coplike I am! I'm sure they dont expect me to be exactly like them, since I dont have the training, but I still gotta fit in.

Is there anything I should make sure to do/not do??? say/not say??? I don't even know how to stand or sit in my uniform without looking all girlie!!! And I dont want the other female officers to look down on me!!!

Please help with any advice you can offer!!!

I know that, in some states, the possession of a lockpick without a good reason (such as a job in law enforcement or locksmithing) is illegal and taken as evidence of criminal intent.

I find it useful to carry picks for a few locked cabinets whose keys have been lost, but that I have complete legal access to. Plus, I like lockpicking. However, I'm not certain that my hobby is legal in my state.

Ok here goes. A roommate of mine has 1 count of assault that I the affaint had to do a affaint warrant on him because it did not get into the police report with the other 2counts of aggravated assault which is going to grand jury.

Now here's the question.

I went before the judge and I have to prosecute him myself because I can't afford a lawyer. The guy has prior mental issue's though. I am trying to get a court order for those records.

Am I able to do DISCOVERY of his lawyers materials???

Since I'm the one prosecting this case.
I have already sent out subpeonas for my witness'.

This case is in Tenneessee and in a city court.

If you have any information please tell me!!!

Thank you so much.

i asked a question awhile back, im going to ask it again, case scenario, this is a question for police officers only, if you were a police officer in the city of san diego, and you happen to be looking thru the fence at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, and you witness a drill instructor kicking a recruit in the butt or even choking him, i know u wouldnt have jurisdiction on a military base but would you either take the time to report it to the military police or, like most of the answers i recieved last time i asked this question, you would just simply smile and turn away? what is the difference between a street fight, which you being an officer will stop it, and how is it different from a marine recruit getting physically abused which is a totally illegal act that can bring serious charges on the drill instructor. please answer the questions first then give your opinions afterwards, thats the only way you will have a chance for a best answer

Our dog ran out from the backyard onto the street and my grandmother was bringing him back when a cop passed by and gave her a Sanitation Dept. ticket for having an unleashed dog.

She gave them her alien registration/green card at the time and they wrote down her #, but her name on the ticket is mispelled ("Giu" instead of "Guo"). On a recent notice that said we still haven't paid the fine, it's still mispelled. Can we try to dismiss the ticket based on that, or is it impossible?

She's also concerned that this will pop up when she tries to take her naturalization test to become a citizen because they have her alien registration #, is that true?

Let's take a hypothetically real scenario where you see a cop on a side street and he looks at you in a way that makes you think that he might want to pull you over. You pass him and signal to the far right lane. As you turn onto the side street, you notice the flashers on the cop's vehicle (far behind you) and a very aggressive acceleration in your direction. You stop about 30 ft into a side street out of the traffic flow on a residential road, turn the car off, and wait; all the while thinking that you have not violated the law.

So with a cop's flashers on and moving in your direction, you pull onto a side street and turn the car off about 30 ft from the intersection. Is this illegal? If the cop was after you, would this not be a safer place for the cop to give you a ticket because of the much lighter and slower traffic on the road?

Is there any place he can go to see about what can be done about this so the poor guy can remain working without the fear of this piece of paper coming back and he is out of work again. I was arrested without a warrant on suspicion of Burglary in California. I spent a couple of days in jail, but never even got to see the Judge, they told me after a couple of days to go home. After I cameout I foundout the judge had thrown out the case because they had no proof.

It has been more than a year and nothing has happened, should I be worried that they will arrest me again?

Is there a Statute of limitation on Burglary in California?

I was in a car accident almost three months ago. It was my fault since i did hit the other car from behind. The guy told me his car was good and only had a couple of scratches in his car...and i offered to pay for it so it wouldnt go to the insurance. He told me he will call me the next day..but only called me one month later saying it will cost 800 cuz the car bumper was damaged and needed a new one. I then took him my auto body shop guy and he told me he will only charge 400. He didn't call for another while and now called 3 months after the accidnet to ask how i wanted to take care of the situation. I told him I'll pay if he wants to go to my auto body shop if not i won't pay. Should i just take this to the insurance...will they even accept his claim after 3 months. Will my premium go up? Advice?
