Try the HM Prisons webpage. I'll list it in the sources section below. If you are trying to trace an inmate call the prison and ask for Discipline. They will tell you whether or not the prisoner is there.

Are you asking where dovegate prison is? or are you asking how to find an inmate there? you're question is very vague.
If you are looking for an inmate you should call the prison and ask if the inmate is there.
Dovegate prison is in the midlands if you are looking for that.

Firstly, in the UK, the prison should you call, it is under no obligation to inform you if a prisoner is held there.

They are obliged to ask you to write to the prison...and if who you are seeking is being held there they will pass the letter on. That said, it does not mean that the prisoner will reply or send a VO etc.

Equally, you could receive your letter back as a 'not known'...and there are a lot of prisons in the UK! It covered under Data Protection Act
