My friend is being harrassed by a woman twice her age (see's 28 and the lady is 29). She keeps emailing this horrible emails for about 2 weeks now. All over $90. My friend paid her with a money order making sure to send it through the post office requiring a signature. Now a week later (my friend hasn't contacted her) she's being served by the sheriff. We know it's because of this crazy lady. I think it's a restraining order. Will a restraining order ruin her teaching career?

I read of immates serving multiple life sentences. What's the difference of just getting life? Is it for the multiple crimes? Or to prevent a life sentence reduction? Or that if karma has that person comeback as a "jail" bird?

I want to go into law enforcement and an R.O.T.C program would be great because they will put me thru police basic trainnig. i want to become and officer of the chp and a rotc program would help me very much.

I have asked the bank to release the information of the person who cashed the check but the bank declined and said because of privacy issue. I have also reported to the local police and they did not press any charges. I have the copy of the check and the account of the person who cashed the check but there is no signature. I really don't know what should I do at this point. Could any one give me advice?

I was parked overnight on a street in the city of Chicago. The street became a no-parking zone at 7am, therefore I was out to my car AT 7am to move it. According to both my watch and the clocks in my house and car clock it was 6:59. Yet I already had a $50 ticket waiting for me which stated the time as 7:04am.
How can they say that the policeman's watch was right over mine when it is only a matter of minutes? And, what proof can I show or need to in order to argue this?
This is mostly frustrating because I honestly believe that my watch was not slow but correct and that the ticket is unjust. I am a young working professional and $50 is still a significant amount of money to me.

The other night on I77 north a Kanawha County Sheriff police car was traveling about 100mph with no flashing lights on. He almost rear-ended a car in the lane. I seen him slam on his breaks. I was traveling at about 70 when he zoomed past me. Is this legal for him to drive this fast with no flashing lights on?

Police waited for me to return home. Two minutes after entering my house the Police broke down front door with battering rams, threw me to the floor then handcuffed me, and thoroughly searched house for " a large quantity of Cannabis and Drugs Paraphernalia". They found nothing whatsoever as I don't have anything to do with illegal drugs. Their "intelligence" was inaccurate and I was left an hour later with a broken front door that needs replacing, frightened and shaking. They had a Court Warrant to enter my premises. No apologies were offered from Police for getting it so wrong. How much compensation can I expect for such a traumatic experience? Has anybody else had a similar experience?

What are my chances of having a speeding ticket thrown out if I take it to court?? Can I still go to traffic school if I am found guilty? I was speeding 16 miles over the limit. The road sign said 35 mph when I last saw it, but apparently there is a small stretch of road (1/2 mile) where the speed limit goes down to 25 mph. The officer clocked me at 41 mph in this area. What do you think? Court or a waste of time?

Last monday my car was towed by the city police. She placed a call stating that I parked blocking her driveway. The thing is its not her drive way. She parks in the drive way next door which is vacant. Now my car was towed and I don't think I'm at fault because it wasn't her driveway. I believe she mad a faulse accusation. What right do I have and will I be responsible for the cost?

I was arrested over a year ago. Apparently I had bounced a check 6 years ago and didnt know about it. I had moved away and never had my mail forwarded because I wasn't really recieving anything there. So, yeah. Anyhow, Now....I'm overly paranoid about it. I'm so afraid that there is another bounced check out there. Is there a good way to check on this without having to spend too much money, which I don't have?
