my fianc'e is charged with simple assault but all he did was curse someone out is that really simple assault?

An exfriend of my son has used my son's name for a few traffic situations, and the boy has done it before. Now we have to go to court three hours away. Is there anything we can do? I do have police reports & newspaper aricles show where the ex-friend has used my son's name. Please help!! We really do not want this on his record. The wild thing, when I called the court the lady that I talked to said that we can make it all go away for $210.00, or we should bring the boy that was speeding with us.

Would a person be likely to go to prison for common assault if it was unprovoked on a stranger&the defendant had 6 previous convictions including being on bail for assault of a police officer at the time of the incident?(the magistrates have already told the defendant they have crossed the custody threshold) The defendant is awaiting sentencing. Yet the prisons are very full.

I just received a ticket for parking in a handicap spot. Here's the situation. It was night time when this occured. There was no verticle handicap sign at the location. The handicap sign on the ground was barely painted. After I received the ticket, I took a lot of pictures showing that there was no verticle sign and the sign on the ground was barely painted. I received a ticket for going 12 miles over the speed limit. The time was clearly 7:45AM and on the ticket I received from the office, the time of the incident is 7:06AM. I was nowhere in the area and in fact I was at home sleeping at that time. I am thinking of contesting the ticket based on this inaccurate information. Please let em know if you think I have a good chance to get this dismissed based on that time difference?

This scam has been around for a while, but I get these messages almost daily now. To what specific e-mail addresses should I forward these messages - either law enforcement officials or other groups? Does anyone ever get punished for this scam, either officially or through vigilantes?

A friend of mine asked me this question. We're frm S'pore. As in most countries, suicide is considered to be a crime. So she heard that police here would put handcuffs on the corpse of a person whom committed suicide. Is this practiced in other countries and why? What's the rationale?

I have been stopped a few times for speeding and I would like to know what my rights are. Am I allowed to ask for the laser/radar gun reading? I was told that cops are not required to show you this. If they dont have it on tape, is it basically their word againsts yours.
