usually a govt. that is going to do that type of thing will have a seperate 'army' to enforce it as they anticipate that normal police are liable to not enforce it.
i think in terms of the 'democracies' that we have now, it is a case of how good can you make the propaganda so that people accept these types of laws with open arms and the police willingly enforce it.
watch this space, next year could bring another 9/11 just so that can happen.

Your political opinions are irrelevant to whether or not a law is "treaturous, or criminal, as to destroy the fabric of society, or could be concieved as being like an act of war against the people."

Otherwise somebody could - with equal justification - decide that your use of oxygen is "treaturous, or criminal, as to destroy the fabric of society, or could be concieved as being like an act of war against the people."

The police have to follow that law. They are enforcers, not law makers. If the police take the law into their own hands that is the end of democracy and you would see a lot more injustice as a result.

Need more info. The police already ignore laws they don't like. In Denver we passed a law legalizing less than 1oz of weed for personal use. The police immediately announced they would disregard the law and keep on ticketing and arresting people. I find this to be grounds for firing a police officer since their job is to uphold laws that we created by legal referendum.

The Police would most likely enforce the law. You only need one to get started and then more will come and then we have a totalitarian society on our hands.

Never happens laws r to protect the people not for excising crime from any level of enforcement. But there r times all men, law enforcers or not have to make up their own minds when they know in their heart something ain't right.

the police like any civil servants have to uphold the law of the land, they have no discretion in which laws they follow. it would be dangerous if they could do that because you never know which laws they would decide to ignore. this is why in other countries the police get used as paramilitaries although the countries laws could be similar to our own.

I suppose if they don't agree with it, they could QUIT or have the idiot ACLU Lawyers start up another case that would in turn start up another MEDIA PARTY, thus getting the public to notice the so-called "injustice"!
